Our positive experience with Casa da Eira Velha started way before we arrived at the house. The owners - Rúben and Bruna - politely asked if I need any tips while visiting the island, and when I agreed, they provided lots of very useful information, which I realistically could not have found online. The tips covered multiple areas - from the best way to arrive to the house, to amazing step-by-step trips for island exploration, to advices on where to go on a rainy day. It was very caring of the hosts and we ended up using tons of the tips during our trip. The house itself was great too - it had two spacious rooms, a clean bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen. There was also a BBQ with everything that's needed for it, lounge chairs for the sunny days, and even board games and small sport games which we ended up playing and enjoying. The view of the house is magnificent, especially if you come closer to the cliff edge. You can see the natural pool beneath and in the distance you can see the Graciosa island. The area itself is not too busy, which ensured nice and serene time. When you search for São Jorge on the web, you will most probably see a picture of the natural pool which is just 10 minutes walk from the Casa. It's a beautiful hike. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and appreciate the hosts for their hospitality!
