About this house rental
Traditional house carefully rebuilt and decorated, fully equipped with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The house is located in Quinta do Rochão, Santo Amaro parish, municipality of São Roque do Pico. This ancient town became known as the main naval construction center in the Azores since the end of Sec. XIX, having been built here the best fishing boats in Portugal. The Santo Amaro neighborhood is still one of the places in the country with more tradition and connection to the sea.
Santo Amaro is only 15 minutes of San Roque, where you have all kinds of shops, museums, restaurants and many cafes, patisseries, cocktail bars, clubs and summer music festivals.
In the surrounding area of the house there are natural pools, cafes, supermarket, craft school, a fishing port where you can buy fresh fish directly to the fishermen and a good restaurant - Corner Palace - where you can enjoy typical island food and the Azores.
On the first floor of the house has a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to prepare your own meals and a dining table. In the kitchen also has a wood oven, the most traditional way to cook on the island.
In the living room there is a sofa, a fireplace and a small library at your disposal.
Still on the first floor also has a bathroom and a balcony.
Down the stairs, there are two separate bedrooms with a shared bathroom. The rooms have a door / window overlooking the sea.
All towels and bed linen are included in the price.
We provide a cradle upon request, if necessary.
The house has a private car park.
From home will have the opportunity to enjoy the sounds of the waves in the morning and a beautiful red sunset fall into the sea. Close to home you can go hiking, dolphin and whale watching from the balcony, swimming in the sea or in the natural pool, listen to the birds or just watch the shepherds with their herds.
From the airport of Pico Madalena or the port are just 30 minutes by car.

This was my second stay at this property and it is an amazing place, we felt at home as soon as we arrived! Clean place in a nice quiet location, swimming close by with a great cocktail lounge and bar 100m away.Our stay was perfect and the hosts were accommodating to everything we needed. Cant wait to return

Very authentic Azorian house. Good and quite location. Very near to the ocean with natural swimming pool. We would recommend this house to everybody.

Het huisje is mooi gerenoveerd en ruim genoeg voor vier personen. Heerlijk rustig gelegen, wel aan de natte kant van het eiland. Wij zaten soms in de regen terwijl in Madalena de zon scheen. Hier en daar miste ik wat praktische dingen zoals een kapstok voor de jassen en als er al wat basisingrediënten in de keuken zouden zijn geweest (zoals zout, peper, olie) was dat leuk geweest.
Grootste minpunten zijn de slechte kwaliteit van de matras en vooral het serieuze vochtprobleem. In het huisje rook het daardoor heel muf, en zeker in de slaapkamers beneden was het echt muf en vochtig. De eigenaar had wel een ontvochtiger gezet en dat was echt noodzakelijk, want met dat natte weer kreeg je het vocht niet weg.
