It is no longer a secret that the Azores are one of the most beautiful destinations. Casa da Terralta is an equally beautiful and unique place, known to few. Casa da Terralta is a small but very cozy house, absolutely quiet. Enjoy the nature little touched by man and escape the bustle of the city here. Being able to fly directly from Lisbon to Pico or Horta Faial and then pass by boat.
Great views, as far as the eye can see. And soon you will understand what the term "idyllic" really means!
Used by painters, photographers and writers. You can hardly find a better place for inspiration and tranquility!
Casa da Terralta's facilities are versatile:
kitchen, dishwasher, oven, washing machine, microwave, fridge, dryer and barbecue are available only for you. It is important to rent a car.
It is at altitude and at a distance from the coastline which allows for a great landscape setting; suitable for those who want to rest and do a reset, surrounded by greenery and flowers.
It has a bedroom with two beds, a toilet and an Open Space that houses 4 more people in separate beds.
It has an open space outside with a view that can hardly be described ...

Beautifull place located at a very quiet and beautifull surroundings. The view over the sea and São Jorge island is magnific.
To make this place perfect i would make only two changes. The laundry washing machine should also be able to dry because with that humidity and frequent rain it's almost impossible to leave it dry outside.
As the rooms are on the underfloor there's a light smell of mould which is quite understandable so i would put a dehumidifyer between the room and the toilet.
Nevertheless i would definitely return to this place.
I haven't met Miguel but he was in touch by phone and let us know he would be always available if we needed anything.

This very old farm house has been tastefully renovated by Miguel, and is well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable vacation. The view from within the Terra Alta house across to St Georges and of the September sunrise is breathtaking and the nearby harbour of Santo Amaro is a real gem. We will remember our stay on Pico for a very long time, it's an amazing, beautiful place.

A five star cottage for the scenery but you are entitled to expect much more confort when you pay more than 200 euros per night, especially when you are 5 or six. Big windows with no shutters + uncomfortable mattresses... The living room is quite small for a family since the garden furniture is stored inside (at least it was during our stay). Last but not least, some basic stuff was missing to cook and wash. Once again, too expensive for the level of service. Still, in spite of all that, we really enjoyed our stay in Pico and the view from the cottage is definitely stunning !
