My room was very clean, comfortable and finished to a high standard. The views out to sea were wonderful, as was the convenient location a short distance from São Roque. I’d love to return next time I visit Pico

This is a special place with heart! This was my second visit in 7 years, as I wanted my husband to experience this wonderful place. Not only are the rooms lovely and views incredible, but the warm spirit of the common room, where people gather and cook in the kitchen if they like, makes it feel like home. It is not just a hotel, it is a magical place to experience, like an upscale adult hostel where travelers become friends. Michaelangelo (really it's Miguel Ângelo) has a larger-than-life personality and he makes everyone feel welcome and comfortable. I love everything about this delightful place!
The entrance is a little hard to see initially so just go slowly between the stone buildings. And be careful by using the street mirror when exiting so you stay safe.

Good location, nice room, friendly staff.
Needs some renovation, the drains are a major problem, the sink drains very slowly and the shower doesn’t, I ended up with the drain water flowing up from the tank, and by the color of it, it wasn’t just mine. Outside there is work to be done also, it’s untidy and needs maintenance also.
