Casa Lido Lake View

This is a delightful one-bedroom apartment with a small balcony that overlooks the lake and the ferry dock. Alberto met us outside the apartment and helped carry bags (thank you) up to the second story apartment. There is no elevator but the two flights of stairs are wide and easy. The kitchen is fully stocked – we cooked in a couple of nights – and the air conditioning in the living room and bedroom works well. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom is roomy and included a washing machine - yay. There were plenty of shelves, drawers, cabinets and spaces to put our things - so appreciated. There is also an iron and ironing board, which is a luxury when traveling. The location is great – a short walk down the hill and you are at the ferry dock as well as bars and restaurants and the beginning of the picturesque lakeside walk that circles around to the main section of the village and harbor. It is quite close to the train station - we walked with our bags 5 minutes - and there is a grocery store right around the corner. Varenna is a small village – stunningly beautiful – quieter than Bellagio. (Tip - buy your ferry tickets online - they are good for any time). It was a great choice to stay in Varenna and at Caso Lido. We would return. Thanks, Alberto!

The balcony was small - hard for a big guy like my husband. That was ok for us as I'm the one who likes my coffee with a view. The lake view was quite nice even if you are looking directly at the ferry dock. I didn't mind that as I liked to watch the ferry come in and out. The WiFi ran slowly sometimes - high demand, I guess.

Fantastic location. Easy walk to shops and restaurants and steps to ferry to visit other villages. Walked from train station to apartment.

Location is fantastic. View is amazing. Sitting out on the veranda watching the ferries come and go and having a wine with cheese bought from the local grocery was perfect. Very spacious apartment. On second floor so you are carrying luggage up stairs as per normal. 5 min walk from train station. Kitchen has all you need. 2 min walk to ferry terminal. Lots of restaurants to choose from. Owner very friendly.
