This property is beautifully designed, very comfortable and had everything we needed. Lindsay and Charlie are lovely hosts and made us feel very welcome. We had the loveliest and most restful stay here at Ragnar's Rest! You may never want to leave!

Peaceful and comfortable - a relaxing time .

Pretty and immaculate little attached cottage within a beautifully kept garden area. A stone’s throw from the sea - fabulous view and delightful short stroll along the shore to the village cafe with absolutely delicious homemade patisserie . Lovely coastal walks in both directions. Friendly and helpful owners.

Perfect tranquil retreat, with everything needed to enjoy this idyllic location.

Incredible location, perfect hosts (available if needed but also allow you perfect peace) perfect place to be based from to explore Arran and also a beautiful place to just rest and relax, if the weather isn’t good it is a perfect place to enjoy and rest, it has everything anyone could need. Great for cooking - everything you need , and lots of lovely books and info to enjoy about the Island. It is exceptional value for a place to stay!

The instructions said the owners would pop by on our arrival. We wanted to get straight into our dressing gowns and relax so this made us a bit less relaxed, not knowing when we would be visited. Maybe we could have popped over instead then we could have done it as soon as we'd arrived?

Lovely location and well equipped accommodation

Great location, well equipped with washing machine, good water pressure in the shower etc and great extra touches like coffee, milk, toiletries, binoculars left out to borrow. Nice of Lindsay to pop round and check everything was ok.

Exceptional weather but it was hot in the bedroom and being 6’2’’ the bedroom was a little tight.

So many thoughtful details, from a pint of milk ready in the fridge, coat hooks and pulley for drying clothes to pretty velux windows upstairs and the patio outside with views across to Holy Isle.

Very quaint accommodation in an amazing location.

The accommodation is situated in an amazing location just a short walk from the town. On site parking for a car and WiFi available. There is a log burner for those colder winter days and a fully equipped kitchen. The hosts were amazing and very helpful. The views from the living room and bedroom are amazing and outside there is a stream that runs alongside the house.

Lovely snug cottage in a great location. We really enjoyed being out and about in Arran and this accommodation in Lamlash was perfect. It was so comfortable and clean . The hosts were lovely and so helpful, they kindly set up and lit the log burner each day , toasty warm

Peaceful getaway for two.

The location is fantastic, easy walk into Lamlash to shops, bars etc but far enough away to be very peaceful. My husband is a keen runner and this is a fantasy base for lots of trails.

Cosy retreat with beautiful views

Ragnars Rest is a lovely cozy place to stay. It is situated perfectly for exploring this beautiful island. The log burner was a blessing and the logs were supplied free of charge, the host even lit it in advance of our arrival. The kitchen was well equiped for a self catering break and there are also several very good restaurants close by. The hosts were very nice and could not have been more helpful. We would definitely return to Ragners Rest

An idyllic retreat in an idyllic spot

Such a wonderful, peaceful place - cosy, perfectly equipped (the owners really have thought of everything), a brilliant wood burner (complete with equally brilliant instructions on how to use it!), the most beautiful views across the bay to holy isle and with a stream running right outside the door. I sat by the fire and watched seals in the sea and lay in (the super-comfortable) bed listening to the sound of the sea and the river at the same time…idyllic. And don’t miss sunrise over Holy Isle from your own little patio by the river. I’ve stayed in many different places on Arran, but I now wouldn’t stay anywhere else - this place is really special. And the owners are so kind and helpful - they left a supply of wood for the fire at the door every day, for no extra charge which I really appreciated as didn’t have a car to collect it for myself.

Exceptional

Ragnar's Rest is just lovely in every way! With beautiful views of the sea and the Holy Isle, and nestled beside a burn, it's the perfect place to relax and be "off the grid" for a while (although the wi-fi is excellent if one needs an internet connection!). The cottage was cosy and comfortable and had everything I needed. It was especially lovely to sit on the decking at any time of day listening to the burn babbling past and the watching the light change on the water. Linsday and Charlie are the best hosts - friendly, helpful and kind. They gave me lots of suggestions about what to see, do and where to eat, as well as practical advice about the buses. It was very easy to be here without a car. I will certainly be returning. It's a very special place.

Perfect location in a quiet part of Lamlash. Beautiful sea views. 15 mins from Brodick. The hosts provided everything to make. Full cooking facilities, smart Tv, down to details like Elastoplast, tea coffee fresh milk, laundry liquid. Too many to mention. Also friendly advice

Just loved it, stole my heart

Gorgeous, well equipped and quirky wee property. Just perfect for 2 with absolutely everything you need. Lindsay is absolutely lovely and very helpful, it was lovely to meet her, would have no hesitation to rebook. Lamlash is a great place for a base to get round the island and all the restaurants have wonderful food. Stunning Golf Course as well.

Just returned from a lovely break at Ragnar's Rest. Lindsay and Charlie are great hosts who provide excellent accommodation in a lovely location. A lot of love and thought has gone in to providing all you would need for a self catering break on the beautiful Isle of Arran.

Exceptional peaceful cottage with unbeatable views

Perfect location at side of burn and mature gardens within really close proximity to shoreline. We used our paddleboards most days and once inflated, were left inflated and propped against side of cottage for an easy 1 minute transfer into the sea. Our bikes were also left in front of wood store at side of cottage. Lindsay and Charlie were exceptional hosts, giving lots of great advice/ideas of where to paddle/climb/cycle as well as great dinner recommendations. The cottage is a beautiful cosy and peaceful property for a couple with everything you could need, not to mention the "to die for views" from all windows. We will definitely return.

Absolutely beautiful and peaceful little gem.

This was self contained attached to the owners property, everything about this place was perfect. The owners were wonderful, the place wonderful, the view and location were just fabulous, I didn't want to leave. Plenty of walks, places to eat within walking and driving distance, so easy to find once you got off the ferry, thanks to Lindsays amazing directions, point by point. Inside was decorated beautifully with a big log burner which warned up the whole place. An absolute gem of a place 😍

Amazing Arran Accomodation

The views of the beach and the Holy Isle from all windows is lovely (we even see saw the odd red squirrel and seal!). Amazing log burner (logs included), comfy bed and powerful shower - great for a refresh after a long walk. Lindsay is lovely too and very helpful. All-in-all, a perfect little bolthole for a couple.

One small touch that would've made it extra special would be some amenities like milk, oil, maybe some fresh bread, a little 'Arran treat'. We had to buy a few bits that we brought home with us (like butter, little sachets in the fridge would be nice). But this definitely didn't take away from the experience, it would've only added to it. Very happy with our stay 🙂

Can't wait to stay here again

The owners were very nice and friendly. They had left things like milk in the fridge, shower gel etc in shower and had the fire on for us arriving which was such a nice touch as we arrived in the evening. The location is perfect. Short walk from pub/restaraunt and nice shops. View is amazing. I think we were lucky it wasn't sold out when we booked. We will definitely stay here next time we come to Arran. Also, the bed was very comfy!

The shower is scalding hot so need to be very very careful
