We left a day early which was quite a relief.

Woodland location

The smell of fish and urine. Period stains on the duvet. Place was quite run down and grubby. Chalet was cold and damp when we arrived. WiFi signal was poor.

Arran worth a visit but stay elsewhere

Arran is beautiful. Dad, who made the booking said double bed was OK. Key in lock box. No other positives about the property.

Using bullets due to limited space. - Sykes misrepresented the property - Damp (horrific smell especially in bathroom, made clothing and towels damp, difficulty breathing) - Paint on bedroom floor, broken blind in bathroom, damaged cupboard door, filthy rug in living room, 2 mugs for up to 4 guests - Dangerous access to property - steep hill and dodgy steps - Park car a distance from property - Poor lighting - No WiFi despite paying for it - Poor/no phone connection - Trees right outside property so no view - No response from owner

Basic accommodation

Nice rooms, but limited to the essentials. Sufficient for staying a couple of days. Very calm and silent area.

Kitchen missing some basics, like more cups and some cleaning equipment (brushes, wipers) The directions to the lodge were a bit hidden in the midst of all the messages I received from the operator and we had to ask locals, so double check the messages to find the location. Figuring out how to use the shower was a bit difficult.
