Lovely overnight stay in great location.

Great value for money - our room in the annnexe was overlooking the river with lovely views. Our room had a fridge with milk and water in it and there were fresh cookies in a jar. The food for dinner and breakfast was delicious. All the staff were lovely and the manager (James??) was very welcoming and friendly. Close enough to the M5 to make it a good stopping off point on a long journey, but no traffic noise at all - it was very peaceful.

A good stay

Breakfast was good but I prefer to have a buffet type, I understand that this Pub has only three rooms so not possible realy. The evening meal was good and the Pub was packed which is a good thing in the climate at the moment.

The fact that the Pub shut at 6.00pm on the Sunday night that we stayed although it did say on their information I like and early evening Beer and they said honestly there is a Pub up the road but had our meal and went to the room.

A delightful stop off!

A regular halfway stop on our travels, perfect as it’s lovely and close to the M5. Stylish, dog-friendly rooms and we can take the dog for a walk along the river from there. Breakfast included today, and it was excellent.

Nothing to report - they don’t do food on a Sunday but warned us so we were prepared.

Great food and staff, let down by the accommodation

The pub was great, food and staff could not be faulted. The accommodation however, is very tired and in need of a deep clean. When we brought this to the attention of the manager, he appeared shocked and offered a full refund. Also, be aware that after 6pm on a Sunday and 9.30pm on a Monday, there is NOWHERE to sit other than outside or your room. My feeling is, don’t take bookings if you cannot offer a full service.

Excellent location for a special occasion

We had the most excellent stay at The Fleet, from our arrival, the staff were friendly and welcoming, the Sunday lunch was great quality and well presented. The overnight room was well appointed, spacious with magnificent views. All in all a most enjoyable experience!

Great winter break stay

Great location so close to the motorway, but very peaceful next to the river. Breakfast was lovely and generous, as was dinner and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Comfy bed. We will be back!

Honest review

Very nice location and room, looking over the River Avon.

Evening food was reasonable and well cooked. Extra's which should come with the main meal all cost a lot extra tbh. Not good value at all. The cooked breakfast was decidedly average and no extra toast, fruit, cereal offered as is normal with most B&B deals. Butcombe beer is always excellent. I noticed the prices of a bottle of wine were ridiculous, we did not buy.

Great location, friendly staff and value for money

Great location by the river. Room was spacious with a river view. All usual toiletries provided. Real coffee pot for morning coffee!! The bed was comfortable and very quiet in the evening. The restaurant was lovely, the staff were very accommodating and the food was great.

Peaceful

Lovely views from room as well as lovely pub terrace and gardens. Bathroom nice with toiletries and room had tea/coffee/biscuits and little fridge. Nice walk from the pub to Tewkesbury.

Although the breakfast was tasty it was rather sparse. I just felt it wasn’t value for money. No fruit juices or cereals. Expected to pay extra if you want a full English.

Location on river . Pub area was nice

Room was very overrated.. never seen so much mould in a shower. It was the hottest day of the year .. no AC ( not expected) but no fan, windows had security links which restricted opening .. temperature in room was exceeding 40 degrees .. only just possible to breathe let alone sleep! Room was likely quite good when it was new but needs some careful upgrading! .. carpet was covered in stains. Room condition ‘grubby’

overnight stay halfway point for devon travels.

room nice with all you would expect just a short walk away from pub area rooms on there own area. breakfast poor sourdough bread only with a overcooked poached egg on top asked for toast with marmalade ( none available ) my husband had a bacon butty but again bacon overcooked very dry. we were not big breafast eaters. breakfast was included in price. we needed extra milk for room no issue in getting this. perfect location near the river but extremely buisy very difficult on a sunday afternoon to get parked. as it was hot weather and lots of people around doing watersports and boating and sunbathing on the banks.

TV in room very poor signal and would not work on normal tv channels. a staff member came to look but they too found tv not working only you tube? so when in room we had no choice but to watch repeat things as in peter kay all night. that was a laugh anyway. sunday afternoon food undercooked and very expensive for what you get? not much choice in the way of normal pub food. the pub closes at 6pm something we were unaware of when booking? we probably would not have booked on a sunday as it was a half way point in our travels to devon. this should be indicated in property advertisement for bookings. we did get a curtesy call on the morning of leaving saying it closed at 6 but we thought this was for food only. as the call was very quiet and short. we did find a little pub up the road from here ( the village inn ) 5 minute walk. they too found it very strange a pub closing at 6pm.

Lovely riverside location in good size comfortable room

Convenient location to M5, but not intrusive. Room with a view of the Rivet Severn adjacent to property. We stayed Sunday night so no food available, but breakfast was fine.

Very memorable stay for all the right reasons

Superb location and general atmosphere; set in a lovely village next to canal/river. We had beautiful weather when there, which meant we could benefit fully from what the accommodation offered. Excellent food, including breakfast, and very interesting room accommodation. Now our go-to midpoint hotel when travelling down to Cornwall!

The rooms could do with a few more electrical points, and they are a bit dark when not in full sun. But we accept that this is part and parcel of being in a period property.
