We were a group of eight family and friends celebrating a 60 th birthday, the house had all we needed for a weekend, very central cosy and comfortable, it did get quite noisy at night time due to the Macdonalds across the road but that didn’t bother us at all. All in all if I would stay here again if heading to York for a weekend.

The location is amazing - right in the very center of York, just a block from the Minster. There are pedestrian streets all around, great pubs and shops. The house is arranged over four floors, which is fun and quirky, but might be an issue for people who aren't good with stairs. The bedrooms are all very good size with comfortable beds. The large front bedroom did have some loud street noise late at night (a Monday & Tuesday night), but the rest were perfectly quiet. The owner provides earplugs if you need them. Plenty of bathrooms - in fact we didn't even find the fourth (a powder room) on the first floor landing till the last day! There was an issue with the shower door not closing in one of the bathrooms which meant it couldn't be used, but the bathrooms were all nicely updated in general. The home is very charming, furnished with antiques, and has a comfortable, slightly worn feeling, which is very fitting to the location. The keypad entry was great, allowing each of us to come and go independently. Communication was great and self-check in was easy - I would recommend staying here, especially for families or groups of friends.

The property is clean and well maintained. An excellent location for all the attractions of York. Unfortunately it is opposite to McDonalds and every night, throughout the night there is noise and shouting from the street, disturbing sleep for the occupants of the rooms at the front.
