Stylish Central 2 Bedroom Apartment - Free Parking, Free WiFi

Very central to Kirkwall, which itself is central to the entire Mainland island in the Orkneys. Parking was convenient. Easy walking to shops, grocery, restaurants, and activities if you don't have a car

Bedrooms were on the small side, without much space for luggage.

The apartment is in a fantastic location - just off the high street and a few minutes walk from both the bus terminal and three major supermarkets, one of which is open until midnight 6 days a week. We enjoyed the bright open-plan kitchen/living area and watching the big screen TV.

The bed in the master bedroom squeaks like a mouse at the slightest movement which was rather disturbing. We made the mistake of opening the bedroom window on the first night and within minutes the room was infested with insects from the overgrown ivy outside. We had to vacuum the ceiling and walls to get rid of them, there were so many! The apartment could have benefited from a dish rack, door hooks for towels and a rug in the living room to make it more cosy and less echoey.

The location was great for access to grocery stores, restaurants, the cathedral/museum/shopping, and public transportation. It was well decorated, clean, the kitchen was well appointed, the towels were good and the beds were comfy. Directions for entry/access were very clear. It was nicer than I expected and such a welcomed change from the youth hostel. Love the tea and fudge.

I wish there were a washer and dryer. If there was one I didn't find it.

The main reason for booking this was the location of the flat. Location is great.

It is falsely advertised as luxurious. Far from luxurious in my opinion. The bedroom was far to small aswell as the bed. Personal preference but we both found the bed uncomfortable. The sofa was old and uncomfortable(buy a new one, for future guests. If more than 2 people were renting it, it would be very cramped. Can hear the water pipes banging, some of the windows don't stay open and had to be jammed open. Parking is about 300m from the flat and is only free if there is space as it is a public car park
