Robinson Cottage

Location as was near Wordsworth House, albeit sadly it was closed for the winter. Near to the river for a nice walk. Was fortunate to have parking outside due to the bank holiday. I'm scoring based on location, not the accommodation otherwise would have scored lower.

Looks better on the photos than how it apctually is.. Cleanliness was a real issue, lots of dust with cobwebs, especially on the pictures. Had to clean items before use, the grill pan was dirty, as we're the pans etc. Obviously, not checked after other guests. I would recommend a deep clean. Some tagging issues that need sorting throughout. Curtains were stained. Some furniture needs replacing as worn. Heating upstairs was too hot yet downstairs was chilly. The parking disc had been hidden and when contacting the hosts, no reply. I appreciate it was Christmas, but they need to respond accordingly. It's definitely not worth the money.

Great location, lovely house and quiet although it's in the town centre.

Location was great - right in the centre of town. Communication was great before the visit including very clear directions, and useful information was left in the house. Loved having the wee patio area right outside the door.

Parking was a bit of a pain but the hosts provided very useful information about lots of nearby options.

Absolutely love this place. The girls always are so helpful. Well situated. Parking 5 mins walk away and only £12.20 for 3 days. Plenty bars and food places nearby. Can't wait to come back.

Loved the little extras, little chocolates, toiletries, teabags & coffee. Much appreciated.

The smell as soon as you walk in the door made me want to walk straight back out again. The bedding and towels had certainly seen better days. I went out and bought towels, pillowcases and a scented candles to make our stay more bearable. It is a little bit tired round the edges, with a few tweaks it would be a fab place. It’s a great location for exploring the lakes. The owners were very helpful. Parking was no great issue for us to be honest.

Perfect location, great value for what we paid and had everything we needed.

Lots of charm, central location. Nice outdoor space. Was quiet, beds comfortable with fresh clean bedding. Unlike a lot of expensive properties there were lots of extras such as plenty of toilet rolls, bin bags, clean kitchen cloths & tea towels. Also tea bags, some condiments and toiletries in the bathroom which was appreciated.

More specific directions to the property instead of just the address as the close door between the shops was open so we didn’t see it. Needs some interior updating and more detailed cleaning (windows/blinds) however it was fantastic value for money and had everything you needed. Although there’s a courtyard it wasn’t secure for our dog so we had to be careful. The outdoor planting needed some TLC (I watered some of them!).

Very Pleasent

The location was great. Although finding parking was a bit of a pain. The free street parking was about a 10 min walk away and not the easiest to find. The disc parking was out in front of the property was few and far between but we managed. The property had everything we needed and the hosts provided detailed instructions which were helpful. The shower was hot and had good water pressure.

The house could do with a bit of an update and it would be a 10/10. The sofa was very well used, still comfortable but was marked up from use. The house had a bit of a smell of mildew when you walked in. We opened the windows and it was fine but it perhaps needs a dehumidifier. The beds were comfortable but I think new bedding and pillows could really make a big difference. The extractor fan in the bathroom was very dusty making it not work very well. Also, the pans are non stick and were scratched making them not safe to use as I believe it can release toxins when cooking on it.

Really nice location, very quiet. Nice little cottage. Liked sitting in the courtyard in the afternoon, it’s a real sun trap. Cockermouth is a really lovely town with lots of great independent shops. Easy access to the Lakes.

One of the beds creaks very noisily when the occupant turns over or moves in it. Downstairs smelt of damp.

Cosy Cottage

Really cosy and relaxed. Everything we needed for a couple of nights away. Some fantastic walks just a short drive away. Buttermere and Sale Fell are most certainly worth a visit.

To have a small gate on the gate posts in the courtyard would make it dog friendly and secure.

Lovely Robinson's Cottage 💚

The location is great. Down an alley, tucked away, off the Main Street, Cockermouth. Our 4th stay at this quiet and cosy cottage, which is a great recommendation! Everything you need for a comfortable vacation. We will be back.

The gas fire is out of commission unfortunately. Miss that cosy glow. The central heating works well though!

A fabulous little hidden gem.

A superb location tucked away in a courtyard off main street. Very convenient for the facilities, but so quiet and tranquil. Everything we needed, cosy, comfortable and an absolute god-send for a last minute emergency booking.

very homely feeling and very cosey, situated in the centre of Cockermouth, and away from street noise, place was amazing, it was like going through a magic door off the main street and into a place of tranquil.

only thing was may need a little TLC in parts(kitchen) plus no fish slice, so struggled to get the fried eggs out of the frying pan, HaHa, but everything was great.

Great value stay

The cottage was in the perfect location for us. Not visited this part of the lakes before. Cockermouth was a lovely town. The cottage itself was simply furnished but the beds were really comfortable.

Could not fault the property and the location was perfect.Cockermouth is a lovely town which we have visited many times,so good to see it back up and running after the horrendous floods.Had a terrific meal at The Bitter End and then a night of entertainment at the local Social Club.

Excellent, so relaxing

Beautiful little cottage nestled away from the main street. The location of the cottage meant that despite it being in the town centre, it's was lovely and peaceful and felt very private. The hosts thought of everything when providing facilities in the cottage, ensuring there were toiletries and cleaning products throughout. The beds were really comfortable and the bedrooms were very spacious. I would definitely book to stay here again.

The only change I would make would be to fit a little gate to the patio area to make it feel more comfortable and private.

Lovely simple stay.

Good location. Simple, no frills. Lovely cosmetics left in bathroom. Very kind gesture of biscuits and small teas and coffees. Lovely communication . Very detailed directions etc.

Upgrade of cutlery and crockery would be a simple enhancement. Duvets were for winter and pillows very old. Some small changes would convert this property to a higher standard without spending a lot of money.

A secret hidden gem.

Brilliant location, just off the main street but very quiet - like a little oasis. Everything you need in the cottage. Really appreciated the tea, coffee and biscuits and the toiletries. Lovely area to sit outside and we were lucky enough to have great weather. Cockermouth itself is a great town. Beautiful walk by the river.

we stayed here for the second time it’s lovely little house, plenty of space. very clean, everything you need was there. our little boy loved all the toys and little cupboards to hide in. we love this place and would definitely stay again

FANTASTIC STAY

It is a really unique place to stay in Cockermouth. Right in the centre and very quiet as it is set back from the main road. It is very cozy and it has everything you need for your stay. It is also dog friendly, which is a bonus!

Parking can be a slight issue for some. However, this is all easily manageable, with a disc for an hours parking outside property included and parking at Wilkos a 2 min walk away can be purchased in advance online for however long you want.

Lovely little private cottage in a nice Cumbrian town

Lovely cottage just off main road in Cockermouth. Close to all the amenities of a little town but really still very quiet and private. Nice size for two people. Had all the essentials you could need

Only thing was that the fire didn’t work and hadn’t been checked before we arrived. But we raised the issue straight away and they came out to check it but couldn’t fix it for our stay
