About this house rental
We are renting out this magnificent home in the heart of the medieval town of Chinon for a weekend, a vacation, or a week—perfect for lovers of the Loire Valley and its castles, French history, and the soft tuffeau stone.
Although very centrally located, the house is situated on a quiet street and is ideal for those seeking a retreat away from the hustle and bustle.
With a total area of 106 m², the house spans four levels connected by a Renaissance-era staircase.
It consists of a living area on the first floor (kitchen, dining room, and small sitting room), a living room (with a very comfortable 140x200 sofa bed), two large bedrooms (1 bed 160x200 and 1 bed 160x200 + 1 bed 130x200), and two bathrooms. A vaulted cellar completes the property, providing storage for your bicycles.
All modern comforts are provided: a wood pellet stove, two fans, an oven, a washing machine, a dishwasher...
Sharing the Wi-Fi connection with your cell phones allows you to work remotely in complete peace.
Cleaning fees include the provision of bed linens.
Shops are a 50-meter walk away, as are the banks of the Vienne River and its sandy beach.
The property offers magnificent views of the Chinon fortress.

Expect the unexpected with: no WiFi - no TV - no microwave - no functioning washing machine - nowhere to hang up any clothes in the top upstairs bedroom.

The pictures accurately represent each room in the house and rooms are as attractive as the pictures. Each room is on a separate floor and requires using a circular staircase. We (two 65+ couples) didn't have any issues with the stairs.
The location is extremely close to everything! Parking wasn't an issue. We parked our car in a free lot next to the river, several blocks away in the center of town.
There's no TV, but we didn't come here to watch TV.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this location.

Unique, rustic, unbelievable location. There are 3 bedrooms but we didn’t realise at first that lounge in the living room was a pull out sofa bed. The stairs were difficult to negotiate for a group of late middle aged adults so would not be suitable for all. Thank you for opening up your home for this amazing experience in Chinon.

We had the most lovely week at Olivier and Elizabeth’s place. The house is very beautiful, specious and well equipped. We stayed for 8 days and had everything we needed. The location is really in the heart of Chinon, and the views of the castle from the windows were just breathtaking. Olivier and Elizabeth were very easy to get in touch with and made us feel as a really special guests. I definitely recommend their home and can’t wait to be back.
