We received a warm welcome from the host Kayoko. Throughout the stay she has been available when needed and very friendly. She provided us with different types of tea when we returned to the accomodation in the afternoon. She also makes an excellent japanese breakfast with local specialities and explanations in English. The room is large by japanese standard, beautifully decorated and very clean. The little garden was a nice touch. The pictures don’t do the place justice.
The only downside is the wooden floor throughout the house, which is squeaky when the other guests or the host move around. We used earplugs which helped.

Rokkon was a highlight of our trip to Kyoto. Kayoko was so friendly and welcoming. It felt like a very authentic Japanese experience. The breakfasts were amazing and I appreciated gluten free options. Great location. Laundry and space for our luggage was a bonus.
Loved everything.
