Villa Sanjomuromachi KYOTO

Our stay at Villa Sanjo Muromachi was nothing short of exceptional. The hotel itself is beautiful, spotless, peaceful, and perfectly located, with incredibly comfortable rooms and genuine Japanese hospitality in every detail. Everything exceeded our expectations. However, what truly made this stay unforgettable was the hotel manager, Alex. Throughout all our travels, we have rarely met someone so passionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely dedicated to ensuring his guests experience the very best of Japan. Alex didn’t simply recommend tourist attractions—he introduced us to places and experiences that only locals would normally know. Thanks to his recommendations, we discovered incredible local restaurants that became some of the best meals of our honeymoon. Even more importantly, he suggested unforgettable day trips to Kifune and Kurama, as well as the breathtaking journey to Mount Maya. Those experiences became some of the absolute highlights of our entire trip to Japan, and we would never have found them without his guidance. Beyond his professionalism, Alex took the time to share Japanese culture, traditions, and everyday life with us. We learned so much from our conversations, and by the end of our stay, it genuinely felt like we were saying goodbye to a friend rather than simply checking out of a hotel. To the management of Villa Sanjo Muromachi: you have someone truly special on your team. Employees like Alex are incredibly rare. His kindness, enthusiasm, knowledge, and sincere care transformed an already wonderful hotel into one of the most memorable experiences of our lives. We cannot thank him enough. If we ever return to Kyoto, there is absolutely no question where we will stay. Villa Sanjo Muromachi will always feel like our home in Kyoto. Excellent staff. Balcony was a highlight with breakfast brought to our room. Spacious, comfortable, great location.

It was small and personal with wonderfully attentive staff and very clean comfortable rooms Manager Alex went above and beyond . He was so obliging, helpful and kind and was very positive upbeat. We also loved the option of getting breakfast in our rooms each morning

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. It’s in a great location—close to one of the main boulevards, Nishiki Market, the Kyoto Museum, and other attractions. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The entire staff was extremely friendly and attentive. A special word of thanks to Alex. Another plus is the hotel lobby bar and the small terrace.
