Great stay

If you are looking for a dog friendly stay this is it.The staff couldnt have made us and our dog more welcome .Dog bowls provided and even a sausage at breakfast.The food was very good,a great selection for breakfast.Would deffinately stay again

Lovely place, lovely people, will come again.

I decided on an impromptu visit to the area and if I’m honest I had no clue what was where, I just knew I wanted somewhere that was reasonably priced, quiet and most importantly, allowed dogs. So after a quick internet search I found The Loans. A lot of hotels say they are dog friendly, but this one welcomes dogs. My little dog was given as much attention as me which for someone travelling on their own with their pet, was really lovely and comforting. Really, super place and will definitely stay again when in the area.

Fabulous find - a real Scottish gem

Great location esp ferry to Arran and all surrounding golf courses . Room was lovely, nicely appointed and the restaurant was great for dinner and breakfast . And all the staff there were so lovely and welcoming

Comfortable stay in an old inn

We liked everything about the property. There are EV chargers on site if needed. We enjoyed the atmosphere in the restaurant & bar. The staff were friendly & helpful. Great choices at breakfast. The bed was very comfortable.

We had lunch in the restaurant, choosing from the New Year’s Day menu. We had a guest with us for lunch. Two of our party enjoyed the food ( chicken balmoral) but sadly one of us didn’t enjoy their dish which was salmon. They found the salmon over cooked & the accompanying orzo? significantly under seasoned & appeared to lack the advertised Troon brown crab. We would have liked notice that only the New Year’s Day menu was available. As guests the availability of a light snack (not just crisps) in the evening would have been nice.

The complimentary breakfast was excellent. The room was fairly clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly. The soap etc. in bathroom were good quality and smelled nice.

The room was slightly dated and the facilities were tired and worn. Carpets had random stains. The shower was difficult to use. Having a bath, if I had the time, would have been a better washing experience I think. I am barely 5 foot 10 inches tall and my head was almost directly under the shower head. Which made washing my hair difficult. The low ceiling also made lifting arms above head very difficult when washing underarms etc. No real complaints, other than these fairly minor issues that never ruined my stay by any means.

Property was ideally situated for our trips which were planned prior to arrival. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, but I would say the water pressure for a shower was very poor. The bar was great and all the meals we had at the restaurant were excellent. Great value for money and we will be visiting again.

A cosy Scottish cuddle- chic not twee.

Fabulous professional and friendly service. Beautifully presented hotel, stylish and cosy- a perfect snug bar and fire with dedicated pet friendly area. Great quality and choice of food, excellent jacuzzi bath and power shower, generous sized room and super sleep enriching bed.

I liked it all. I’d love more wine options by the glass, great choice by the bottle but I like yo pic n mix- wine flights with cheeses would be excellent here. I’d never want to leave!

Great staff at this welcoming hotel

Great hotel and popular. Good location for the wedding we were attending. The staff and service were exceptional - super friendly, welcoming and happy to help. Good parking and outdoor seating in the sun was nice. The breakfast was excellent, and we particularly liked the decor of the restaurant and bar - welcoming and cosy. If you're a guest, the bar is open 24/7.

The bed was somewhat hard and we only had one bath towel for two people. Otherwise it was spot on.
