Fantastic stay in lovely hotel

Fantastic room and facilities. Room was far bigger than we were expecting, same for bathroom.

The temperature of the room was pretty hot as there were radiators rather than an Aircon system, we probably could have turned down the radiators to be fair.

The breakfast was excellent, but for my wife I'd have had more croissants,, the full Scottish was excellent.

MY wife dropped her pencil and had to go under the bed to find it. She also found a baby's bottle whose contents were mouldy The base of the shower was lethal, like an ice rink, you should have a non slip mat on it. The shower itself needs attention, new washers or o rings required

Fabulous location, beautiful grounds, hotel looked stunning, above diminished the experience .

Disabled room which was very spacious with a large walk in shower and bathroom however room was cold (was a weekend of ice and snow) and was only one radiator. Asked for a heater to put in room while enjoying a coffee in the lounge however receptionist said she didn,t think they had a heater in the hotel, there wasn,t and never got back to us to confirm? Dined at night in the restaurant and food excellent but the side of veg which we reminded the staff about arrived as we had almost finished the main. Disappointing.

Mixed experience

Food, location, staff and hotel decor was excellent (there is a large but however).... Our room (No 6) was dreadful - lighting poor, shower hopeless (water pressure ridiculously high to extent that water went everywhere and was cold). Additionally, shower door opening was very small ((I am not a large person for avoidance of doubt). TV & supporting handset was 1980's Sky remote which constantly lost 'Satellite Reception' so could not use it - ridiculous in this day and age. Antiquated furniture in room with two hangers in each of the wardrobes which was inadequate and unlike any hotel I've stayed in this year. Room was freezing on entry and after turning on old fashioned radiators and returning to it later after dinner, the room was far too warm - poor radiator control as you would expect with a bedroom urgently in need of refurbishment... On exiting hotel and giving feedback, receptionist had well-drilled empathy which clearly she had used on many occasions with past residents in this room. She offered to take off a round of drinks as a way of compensating. In summary, all the hotels good points experienced were sadly eroded by the room 'experience' (i.e., restaurant excellent, staff excellent, SPA area excellent) so all-in-all, 4/10 rating is the best I can muster.

We were at a wedding. Amazing venue. Nothing was to much trouble for any of the staff. From the reception staff to the bar staff, restaurant staff, kitchen staff. Everyone were so friendly and hard working

Great location and all staff except one were exceptionally kind and thoughtful

Check in was meant to be 3. Room not ready to 3:45. Booked in lodge which did not have sky which all other accommodation had and the whole lodge stank of dampness. We were offered a room which was lovely albeit dated and the bathroom floor dirty and the bed has numerous broken springs but the staff could not have been more helpful. The receptionist with the dark hair who was assisting a wonderful new receptionist of 10 days was rude uncaring and should not be in the hospitality business but all other staff were superb.

Eventually - very nice !

We were shown to a gate house property about 150 m from the hotel - not what I was expecting . We had to cart our luggage across the lawn ourselves . Only to discover accommodation less than satisfactory . We came back to reception and fortunately the staff reallocated us to room no.7 which was very nice

Quiet, comfortable, relaxing, 'just what doctor ordered'.

I have stayed here several times now and one of the main reasons I like to return, apart from the exceptional food etc, is the really friendly staff.

Room 6, I thought a light in the shower would be good, but that's being very picky.

Un desayuno muy completo y muy bien preparado.

Me gustó todo realmente, pero hubo un problema con una de nuestras 3 reservas que yo había hecho a mi nombre unos 7 ú ocho meses antes por Booking.com ya que se trataba de una boda familiar. Cuando llegamos al hotel no encontraban nuestra tercer reserva y, después de investigarlo, nos ofrecieron una habitación/apartamento en una zona exterior, fuera del hotel principal. Al final, se disculparen y reconocieron que había sido un error administrativo de su parte,, pero creemos que tenían que haberlo llevado mejor.

Muy agradable

Todo muy bien en un ambiente muy relajante.

Había hecho 3 reservas por booking.com a principios de año ya que íbamos a una boda familiar, pero, la llegar al hotel, no encontraban una de las reservas y una de las parejas se quedó sin habitación hasta que nos ofrecieron un apartamento dentro del recinto (pero fuera del hotel). Recibimos disculpas del hotel, pero nunca recibimos una contestación adecuada por el error.
