Great property, but could be better

The property manager Maro was pleasant and attentive on the single time we met him (on arrival), and he speaks good English. Lovely little terrace. Spacious rooms. Good shower, with lots of hot water. Close to the centre. Convenient parking.

No instructions where to go or how to enter the property on arrival. We had to call two numbers; luckily we had prompt answers, but it's not what you want when arriving at night. In the bedroom, the double bed was made with two single sheets instead of one double, which was a major pain. In the kitchen only one hob worked on the cooker, and in the bathroom there were no hooks. Wifi was weak. As for the town, all the restaurants have identical prices, which are relatively expensive. Some locals were not at all friendly, others were fine.

We spent a wonderful week in Cavtat in a great location with a stunning view

Perfect location for exploring Cavtat and the most stunning view Maro was really welcoming and made it clear that he could be contacted should we need anything.

The property could probably do with a little updating, but it’s perfectly comfortable, convenient and those views…wow! The shower doesn’t drain v well so you have to be careful to turn it off and on.

1 week in Cavtat

Good communication with owner, Maro. He organised our taxi airport transfer, right to the door. Great location, overlooking the port. Bed very comfortable and plenty of bedding , got a bit chilly on the evening. Bakery at bottom of road, first class.

Bathroom was a little tired, shower cubicle a bit grimy around the sliding doors ,,either needs replacing or a good clean, ditto, toilet basin. Outside area could also do with a lick of paint and a tidy up, very overgrown around the BBQ area.

Fabulous stay Maro such a fantastic host

Loved the location 2 mins walk to centre, stayed numerous times before but not with Maro , will definitely stay here again ,Maro greeted us delayed flight after midnight when we arrived and he was waiting for us, he was so kind to us.Really bad weather one day grocery store was shut, and asked us if we needed anything from supermarket that he was going outside area so he braught bk a couple of bottles of soda which was very kind of him. Such a lovely manager host 10-10 would recommend these apartment to everyone really good value. Thankyou again Maro we will definitely be back👌

Located with a great view away from the center but not too far from the picturesque village.

Maro was a great host who went beyond. Have him arrange a taxi to the airport. Also consider taking the water taxi if you are coming from Dubrovnik during the day and the weather is good. Only 15E and scenic, cheaper and faster than a regular taxi. The view was great and location close to town. Cavtat is a quaint uncrowded gem worth staying longer for a relaxing and refreshing last few days of vacationing in Croatia which can be very crowded. We liked the balcony and the view the best. It was also a quiet location other than an occasional dog bark and the planes approaching the nearby airport. The beaches were nice and the walk around the peninsula is not to be missed.

To put it gently, we thought the apartment was a charming original from the 70's or so. The climb to was not too bad for us but we got dropped off and picked up directly in front of the place. Since we got in late, we opted for a free ride rather than the water taxi so we did not have to roll luggage up the hill. That is the down side of taking a water taxi,

Garden Apartment

We stayed in the one bedroom garden apartment. It was spacious and well equipped. Huge comfortable bed. Plenty of hot water and a decent shower with loads of towels. Nice terrace to sit out for breakfast or a glass of wine. Maro the owner was contactable by WhatsApp for any queries. Easy short walk into the centre of town.

The WiFi worked well on the terrace but very limited in the apartment. The bed linen was clean but could do with replacing. There is no ventilation in the bathroom so could smell a bit musty at times. I do not recommend the taxi transfer with the booking agent directbooker. They dropped us off at the top of the hill a fair distance from the apartment and we had to carry our cases down a flight of steps. Taxis available at the airport and the bus station in Cavtat or ask Maro to arrange.

Perfect view and location

The view was amazing. So close to the main area where there are lots of lovely restaurants. Very clean and tidy. The towels and bedding smelt lovely and fresh. Maro was a fabulous host. He sorted out our return to the airport and was always on hand if you needed him Cavtat is a fabulous place .

The sunset from the terrace is breathtaking

It could be the best seaview in town, overseeing from our terrace. The room is spacious and clean. it's fantastic to have a full set of kitchenette setting in the room. It is just 2 minutes walk to the old town we cannot ask for more central in terms of location. The owner was very kind to have helped us order a taxi to the airport the next day

The view from the balcony was fabulous. We were able to see all the yachts coming in & out of the harbour. Watching the sunset from this balcony was just amazing. Maro is a great guy very helpful and responsive. Very quiet location at night and only 2 minutes to the centre.

A peaceful and scenic retreat with exceptional hospitality, highly recommended!

The apartment was spotless and well-maintained with a stunning view from the balcony overlooking the sea and the charming town of Cavtat. Maro was incredibly welcoming and helpful, providing great recommendations and making us feel right at home. The location is peaceful yet conveniently close to the town center, beaches, and restaurants.

The uphill walk back from town can be a bit tiring, especially in the summer heat, but it’s manageable and worth it for the view.

This place saved our trip! After missing our flight, we needed last-minute accommodation, and Maro was immediately available to help. Not only did he take our booking on the spot, but he personally helped us get our bags to the property. He even arranged our taxi to the airport and showed up early morning to help with our luggage. This level of personal care is rare and truly appreciated when you're stressed about travel disruptions. The two-bedroom apartment was large, well laid out, and air conditioned! The location couldn't be better - away from the Dubrovnik crowds but just a short walk to great restaurants and beautiful Cavtat. But the real showstopper was the absolutely beautiful view from the deck. We watched the best sunset of our entire trip from there - it was breathtaking and made our unexpected extended stay feel like a blessing. Sometimes the best experiences come from unplanned moments, and Maro's hospitality turned what could have been a travel disaster into a memorable highlight. His genuine care for guests goes far beyond typical hotel service. Highly recommend for anyone looking for exceptional hospitality and stunning views!

Also the apartment was spotlessly clean & a generous supply of towels. The bed was also very comfortable. Fabulous location and lovely room with everything I needed

I loved the location - taxi takes approx 10 minutes from airport and dropped me about 150m from property which was fine. I was met by Maro who was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable about local area. I stayed in Deluxe Double room, and provided with plenty of fluffy towels, kettle, crockery and iron which were in excellent condition. The bathroom was very clean with a nice walk in shower with plenty of hot water available. The view from the balcony is absolutely fabulous, it had table and chairs and sun lounger to allow you to sit out and enjoy the view. The balcony is shaded which I'm sure would be a bonus in the hot summer months. I would definitely stay here again as it provided the perfect location, just a 2 minute walk to the sea front, it felt a safe secure environment with the added bonus that the host Maro was always contactable and helpful.

Wonderful stay in Cavtat

I had a wonderful stay in Cavtat and Dubrovnik, and staying at Mara & Petrunjela was a big part of it. The village is beautiful and exceptionally handy for the airport. I received a lovely warm welcome from Maro, the owner, who I enjoyed chatting to. The studio room was perfect, with the greatest element the stunning view of the bay and village, across the picturesque rooftops. Better still, Dubrovnik was visie in the distance. The view with balcony is perfect, night and day. The apartment was well-equipped, clean and had everything I needed to make simple meals when I preferred notto eat out. The people in the village are also very friendly and give a natural welcome. I was lost without a working mobile phone. The local postman drove me up to Maro's! Maro was also kind enough to give a lift to the airport on departure. Wonderful people and a great place for a relaxing break.

There was nothing really at all tjat I didn't like. The fact I visited slightly out of season meant there were no boat taxis to Dubrovnik and some of the Cavtat restaurants were closed, but the bonus was a (relatively) quiet Dubrovnik. This was my first visit to the area since the early 2000s and I was a bit shocked at the price of the city walls tour, at 40 euro! But that jas a lot.to.do.with weigjt of tourist numbers and the impact tjat is having locally

Happy few days- excellent location for beautiful swimming, cafes and accessibility to Dubrovnik

Location was excellent- wonderful view. Good little kitchenette area. Cavtat so lovely for swimming and cafes and evening walks around the peninsula. Stunning mausoleum on hill above the town. Live music in the evenings and an open air cinema one night. Maro was so helpful and kind, with any queries that we had. Thank you.

Amazing view, private large terrace, steps to beach and restaurants, amazing host.

View- The view on the large private terrace was beautiful, when booking I was worried if the view of the ocean would be cut off because I was in the lower level room, but it was perfect and the outdoor area was spacious and private. Room- The room was great, there is a full kitchen with everything you need for an extended stay, the bedroom was comfortable and had A/C. The bathroom has a spacious shower, a sink, and toilet. The main area has a large couch, TV, and best of all a huge window with a view of the ocean and sunset. This is a perfect place for a couple to stay at. Cavtat/City- This was my first time in Cavtat and I was worried that because it was so close to the airport it would not be impressive, or loud or dirty etc - and I couldn't be more wrong. I have been to Dubrovnik twice (and loved it both times) and would still come back to Cavtat before Dubrovnik. It is a beautiful town with amazing views and beaches, good restaurants, good hikes, close to wineries, and way less touristy than bigger cities. Thank you for the great stay and I look forward to coming back soon!

The apartment has an AMAZING view. The sea is perfectly visible from the windows an even better from a terrace where you can eat and drink with this amazing atmosphere. Really calm and well equipped apartment. It is very nice to cook there.

The location is great, extremely close to the center but still calm. The views are amazing.

No communication at all. No one to check us in , no one at the check out. Zero personal feel. It’s important to know that the taxi cannot enter Cavtat center therefore you cannot approach the apartment unless someone that lives there picks you up. And you can imagine my check in at night , with heavy bags , a small kid… a bit of a disaster I have to admit. The mattress is quite old and therefore quite uncomfortable.
