Charming location in the center of the Cinque Terra

Very clean and Nice room. Magic location on the rock near the castle. The shared terrasse has a magic view on the sea. Fresh and modern arrangement of the room. Good arrangements with restaurants and breakfast.

Exceptional host in a magical place.

This was my second stay at La Mala. I can’t say enough good things. Gian is an exceptional host. He could not have been more helpful with some logistical issues I encountered when I got to Vernazza. Five stars! The property is as advertised. Beautiful. Clean. Will definitely stay here again and recommend to all my friends!

The most wonderful place in Vernazza.

La Malà was as advertised -- incredibly beautiful, super clean, and in the most wonderful location, high above the Ligurian Sea. This place is special – and we felt special staying here.

A gem in Vernazza!

Service was wonderful. We got picked up at the train station and shown directly to our accommodation. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Location is quiet and extremely close to everything. I'm not sure if this is offered all the time, but since La Mala is part of the sustainable program of the Cinque Terre National Park, they gave us an incredible discount on the Cinque Terre Card that included unlimited train travel. I would stay here again!

There was no curtain or blinds to cover the small window. The accommodation is up many stairs - this wasn't an issue for my partner and I, and they offer to bring your luggage if you are unable to but just want to flag this for those with mobility issues.

Location good but there are other places to stay.

Vernazza is beautiful. The location is hard to reach with lots of stairs but is in the centre of town and convenient.

The staff did not listen to us when we said at check in we had a 9.30am train to catch. No one was there at check out time and they said that check out is at 10am. This caused a great deal of hassle for our onward journey.

La Mala - are definitely rooms of charm.

A beautiful, clean and well appointed affiitercamere with a lovely terrace and fine sea views. Gian met me at the station and carried my bag while guiding me to La Mala. He was very pleasant and provided lots of information and advice about Vernazza and it's surrounds and was on call in the event of any further assistance.

spectacular location with access to a phenomenal (shared) large veranda - absolutely stunning decor, very comfortable and charming...beautiful bathroom, lovely coffee service, stunning view....very comfortable bedding, air con is king after a long day hiking or swimming!!! Amazing location and staff - would come here again!

The room was wonderful and the staff was extremely helpful! They let us drop off our bags early which was great, and they were so quick to communicate and answer any questions we had. The location is incredible and so were the views! We would definitely stay here again if we came back.

It would be nice if there was breakfast options offered, but with only four rooms here I can understand why it probably doesn't make sense to offer it.

Our bright and spotless room was like a little island cloud above the rocky coast! What a view!

I had been told so many wonderful things about La Mala, I was afraid I might be disappointed. Nope! It was even better! First, we must thank Gian for meeting us and helping with our bags and guiding us to La Mala. Room 31 was just amazing with its bright, white, fresh decor! But opening the windows to look out at the sea...was just the best! Our housekeeper, did such a nice job refreshing our room also. Must give her an extra thanks! The location to the harbor and all the magical walkways and views... the castle and hikes above Vernazza... I could go on and on. But best of all was coming back and sleeping with the window open to hear the waves against the rocks below!

The hike up all the stairs could be a negative for some. But that quickly became part of the fun. We got better at making the climb faster. And we burned off lots of pasta and bread!

Amazing views, perfect location, lovely light airy rooms. Lots of little touches that were really appreciated. Gian met us from the station and helped us with our bags which we were very grateful for. Every detail had been thought of, we would highly recommend.

Great Staff that are extremely helpful and welcoming 🤩 all issues were solved quickly. Got short guided tour through city at arrival, help with luggage and all information needed. Great people og very nice location. Beautiful porch/ with vie of lemon trees and the ocean!

Coffee was charged for after 2 capsules. Bed was narrow, only 140cm.

We visited all 5 villages, and concluded that Vernazza definitely had the best layout and atmosphere.

The interior was clean, fresh, and a good balance between modern and rustic charm. Gian was very friendly and very helpful.

The pillows were a little uncomfortable, but no big deal.

What a town! Hiking was strenuous but well worth it. September might be too busy a time on trail!

The room afforded us access to a balcony overlooking the Mediterranean Sea with comfortable seating. It also had window access to a clothesline that came in handy! John met us at the taxi service area and directed us to our room while physically handling our luggage and assisting us to our room high above the ground level of the town.

Arriving by train would have been better for us to avoid the drive to the parking area...but the train strike changed our plans. However, the parking attendant alerted John and La Mala of our changed plans and arranged for him to meet us!
