A good alternative

The house is well kept, comfortable and feels homely; also, our room had a huge TV which was nice. Communication with Helena was quick and to the point, we managed all our stay, including the check-in, remotely. The location is very convenient for the train station, local shops and tram stops.

It would have been great to be able to cook apart from using the microwave, although we understand why there is a restriction. The heating turned on after we arrived, but the place still felt a bit too cold throughout our stay, especially the kitchen.

I could have done with another hours sleep.

Very clean and modern house, tidy without excessive clutter. Nice kitchen you can use on the ground floor. Bathroom was clean and functionable.

My room was on the first floor with rooms above. Noise from the room above early in the morning woke me and I couldn’t get back to sleep. Very little cushioning could hear every movement.

I agree with the review that says "you get what you pay for". It's a clean family home very close to centre of town. Parking on drive way for one and free parking on roadside for many. Hostess was nice.

The single room is literally bed, armchair and wall mounted TV. It is small. But then it's also very very cheap so not really a downside.

One of the conflicts stems from the concept of "public space", especially the kitchen. The hostess is not allowed to use the kitchen. Only the refrigerator and the microwave can be used. This disrupts my plans. Obviously, this is not a kitchen in the normal sense of the word. And you are not allowed to stay in the dining room after eating, you will be kicked out. The hostess's reasoning was that there were other people in the house and you should have left immediately after dinner, disrupting others' use (the dining room seats 6 and there were only three people in the house that night). What strange logic, I don't see why two people can't use a common area at the same time. When I tried to ask why, the hostess was very rude and said I was unconscious. I have rarely met anyone so illogical. Second was the attitude. I don't understand why she had a condescending and arrogant attitude as if I owed her money. I was standing by the microwave waiting for my food. It was in the way of the washing machine and she told me to go away with a very bad attitude. I was very shocked by this.

I was very pleased with my stay, Helena was very nice to me thank you.

The location was very good for walking to parks, river and city. Public transport was nearby buses trams and train station. During my 3 nights stay I did not use my car 😊 great. Helena was nice to me thank you.

A kettle in the bedroom would be nice 👌🏾 but all was 😊 good

Excellent

Exceptionally clean. I was a lady travelling alone to Nottingham for the first time and Helena was so lovely.She works hard to make the visit welcoming. Excellent selection of teas and coffee in the kitchen as well as the use of appliances. Bed was perfect and bedding immaculate. Bathroom spotless.

Just what we needed.

Very friendly welcome. Essentially like a B&B without the breakfast. But a welcomed cup of tea and chat with the owner. Very good for short walk to the train, buses out West Bridgford way, and the tram. Also good for a walk to Trent Bridge and the river, or to the city centre in the other direction.

The stairs up to the rooms are narrow, so be careful carrying your luggage. I think the owner may prefer to take it up for you.

Had everything that I could of needed

Room freezing when I got there. When the sun was up got hot though. After meeting someone on arrival, didn't see anyone else till leaving 3 days later.

I didn't like that u can't talk normal as she said she living there so we have to be quite and on top of that I had I had to pay extra for a guest even though I had a double room The location was good and the place was clean but that's it

Nice and comfortable room

Everything about the apartment was pleasant. Helena was good at keeping the place clean and comfortable . Next time at Nottingham, I will use this room but hope to book the double room with private ensuite bathroom

The new guest who lodge Saturday night was using the toilet without flushing. In the middle of the night, I went to use the toilet and met it messed up. Same thing happened Sunday morning around 9am when I went to have a shower. How Can a full grown adult be this wicked? It wasn't fair I must confess

Clean and cosy room with nice hostess.

Hostess is very nice and everything was very clean and new. Some other guests were playing music quite late but thankfully the hostess was not afraid to tell them to turn it off after the official quiet hours.
