They lock up at night. There was a board in reception showing the code of how to get in at night. My Dad and I had forgotten the code (one number out), so we struggled to get in

Two night stopover at Felcaro.

The pool was lovely and clean. Well maintained. Breakfast was very nice with lots of choices. Staff were very pleasant and attentive. The hotel was very clean, it is old fashioned, so if you want modern, it's not for you, but it was right up our street. 15 minutes from Gorica which was perfect for us.

I can't honestly think of anything. It was hot and our air conditioning wasn't cooling us, but they provided us with a fan which did a great job.

Charming hotel in wine-growing countryside.

A charming hotel, which we stayed in for just one night. When we arrived we were given two rooms on different floors, but reception moved us to neighbouring rooms on request. The breakfast had a good variety of food on offer. Our dog was made to feel welcome.

The location is nice. Breakfast was good. Rooms were clean. Staff was friendly.

The rooms are very rustic, there are many things that don’t work (like AC, light above the sink), or are just wonky (toilet moving when you sat down, shower head was spraying in all directions). Pool area is nice, however it was closed at the time of our stay. There were spiders with big webs on hallway lights.

Very good value for money and good positioning, near Cormons area

The location is amazing, very close to Cormons (wineries), the hotel is clean and nice and we had a very good time both inside the rooms (very comfy) as well as by the pool

Stylish older villa with soul and character

Very stylish old villa. Not only in name - an actual, real, proper villa. Old and not modern? Certainly. But I thought this was actually a good thing: The older style is beautiful. The villa has character and isn't a soulless modern sterile environment like very new hotels often try to be. It's a bit like traveling in time, to what was considered luxurious a few decades ago.

The dinner menu was not enticing. Can't say much on the quality of the food because I chose to eat somewhere else but spaghetti Bolognese and Wiener Schnitzel are not the most creative options. Unfortunately there was a bad smell coming from my shower drain.

The location, in the heart of Cormons.

Unfortunately there was no hot water in the room. We were promised that it would happen, but nothing happened. The rooms are not comfortable, too small. The bed is comfortable, the place is quiet. The breakfast is average.

Interesting Austro-Hungarian Villa

Great base to explore surrounding area in Italy and Slovenia. Felt excellent to use the swimming pool (with a bar) during hot summer. Staff was very friendly and catering our requests. Likely to stay here on our next trip as well.

Would recommend this character filled villa in a beautiful part of Italy.

This property was full of character, in a great location. Great breakfast, comfortable beds and great air conditioning.

The pool was out of order, but they told us this ahead of our stay. The villa did give the vibe of a haunted house - but we had no supernatural experiences for the duration of our stay. Few ghosts have been nice.

Much better than expected. Great old world charm with a view onto vineyards and the town.

Hotel was nicely renovated but in a way which preserves its great old world charm. Breakfast room is really stylish. Pool was quiet and well kept with a small but good bar. Beautiful old bar inside as well, and the views from our room or the balcony onto the vineyards across the road were magnificent. 15 minute walk from the train station.

The villa itself was beautiful, and the grounds were lovely. The free breakfast was wonderful. The attendants in the restaurant and at the pool worked their tails off, and they always offered a smile.

The pool was only open till 7. You could not eat in the restaurant if you didn't have reservations. When we arrived, it was too late to get on the list, and they took absolutely NO walk ins. We were told the elevator went up to our room. It didn't. It went to the 2nd floor, and then we had to go down a couple of steps, walk a bit, then up about 15 stairs up to our room, which was literally in the attic. You had to duck your head to go in the bathroom. The staff at the reception desk never smiled. I asked for information about what there was to see in the area and was told..."Really nothing." They were always looking at the computer screen... never acknowledged you as you walked by, never looked up, and the young gentleman never once looked us in the eye to speak to us. The AC did not cool our room, and the thermostat was ancient. The switch to turn it on was not even safe to put your fingers on.

nice villa forms the basis of the hotel. However we were placed in a far accommodation which was not so nice The room seems old and the beds were not comfortable. I believe that this was the kind of room you get for the kind of money we paid

A nice retreat from cities.

Very quiet location. The staff is wonderful, dinner was excellent. (Have the mixed wild game appetizer!!!)

This "Kaiser-like" hotel is still elegant and comfortable, but it's starting to look worn in the guest rooms, i.e., the old fixtures and difficult to use tiny shower. This comment is not a dislike, but rather an observation.

Disappointing

The breakfast was nothing special, boring. Location was ok, quiet and a bit rural.

It may have been a historic place but it doesn't help when the food isn't good and the staff, most of them, were angry and most interested in just coming home. We were a group of 14 and probably all expected something more. During the dinner, they pulled plates out of our hands before we finished, the same with the coffee. At the same time they close the bar immediately after eating. The ones at the reception evening and morning, as well as the one in the restaurant were ok, but the tall and slightly older of them were absolutely utterly inept, should have stayed home from work that day. Piles of dust and dirt under the closet in my room.
