Coffee and vending machines weren’t working

That on checking in I was told I needed I D for my daughter! I had I D for myself but did not know this was a requirement. This delayed check in and it was late in the evening so we were tired! Then I’m getting to the room. Tv took a while to work no remote. Bathroom hot tap spat at me. Cold tap dribbled. Shower didn’t work! Room dreary and whole feel of hotel was not nice. However, on expressing this to guy on reception next morning he was very polite and took it on board. Won’t stay again.

I did not like the property
We had a ground floor room shush was next to a communal area with loud guests that were up all night. Staff didn’t seem to intervene and I left my room to ask them to quieten down as another guest from an upper room was coming down the stairs to ask for them to quieten down. Shower in room was leaking from the hose. The internal lock was broken. There were holes in the wall in the bathroom and the shower tray was very dirty, the whole room looked shabby and most of it would be a cheap fix. There was so shower gel. The only toiletries was a small bottle of shampoo. There wasn’t any hand towels. All in all probably the worst night I’ve spent in a hotel. We had to pay a cash deposit of £10 which isn’t a lot of money, however I don’t know why this was needed and who carrries cash?

It’s cheap
At least 10 people came back to the room opposite our room off their faces on drugs. Shouting banging drinking laughing out loud around 3am till 7.30 am. Confronting some of them on 2 separate occasions pleading to be quiet but got told to go back to my room and crawl under the stone I came from if I didn’t want a good kicking. The guy on reception downstairs allowed this behaviour to carry on and turned a blind eye. It was the worst most frightening experience I have ever had.
I will tell potential customers of this hotel to avoid it like the plague.

The room was clean
The kettle didn’t work, I reported this to reception but they didn’t replace it. No heating and the cistern was slow dripping all the time. Also the shower wouldn’t get hot.

Everything was uncomfortable and got us angry for one nite stay. Sleepless nitte because of the all nite traffic noice and very noicy all nite with other guests. And the room was very very smoky 🚬 and unclean . Bathroom was very very small. Hardly one person can turn around in the bathroom

The main area downstairs when you first go in is lovely , the staff are great and friendly , they require a CASH deposit of £10 for the keycard which is very fair considering how many people lose them , the bed was comfy too.
When I first got into my room it smelt very strongly of cigarettes , there was ash on the bedding and bleach stains/discolouring on the things draped over the bed , I went to open a window the blind was broken so I fixed that and noticed the safety lock on the window had been ripped off and there was fag ends in the window , a burn holes in the chair and other things in the room , there was a slight bit of rust in the shower and the power button to the shower had black dirt/grime in it when you pushed it ..

Not too far from the city centre
I had to move rooms twice because the tv and internet didn’t work and every room I saw was shabby and unkempt. The sign out front says full continental breakfast which they don’t offer.

Nothing
The room stunk of smoke, had holes in the bathroom walls, the shower was mucky and shower curtain broken. The doors were peeling, and the door wouldn't lock from the inside. The man on reception tried to move us to a single room instead (there was two of us) and finally got put in a family room with 4 single beds. The location wasn't great either. Said we could have a partial refund... but still waiting. Avoid.

The hotel was a good value budget friendly option. A comfortable 20 min walk into town down a long straight road.
Having a fire alarm test for approx 2 hours on a Tuesday morning wasn't ideal, but understandably necessary.
There are virtually no facilities in the hotel so be warned

Room was okay, no 2 and downstairs so heard every little noise with people coming and going. Bed comfortable, working tv, coffee and tea making facilities and car park all positives.
The hotel was not overly welcoming and when arriving with my 5 year old daughter for the NUFC v THFC match I was asked if I had ID to prove she was my child.

Like the room hotel
Day shift staff generally okay
While the manager's away mice will play
Dubious customer service from guy who checked me in,hes from other hotel and couldn't be bothered but did sign me in
Plus the guy who is regular here behind the desk indian glasses on,kept giving me dirty looks the two times I stayed this week,
Apart from these 2,the others were friendly and approachable

Staff seemed friendly enough.
Bed was extremely uncomfortable, not only could you feel the mattress springs but you could pretty much see them too, the bathroom door was hanging off, the vending machine downstairs was empty and there was no other facility/bar to get a drink. Location was a bit far out

Absolutely nothing to like.. old, worn, tired accommodation. No facilities whatsoever!
Staff lacked customer service skills.
The photos shown are nothing like the reality....

1. HOTEL?.... calling this place a hotel is ridiculous... its a substandard building that needs completely renovating from top to bottom ..
Updating is an understatement!

Nothing except the good staff. I am sure people return to this venue because of the good customer service.
Tiny bathroom, dirty, no place to hang cloths, heater not working. Bed is very hard. Expensive, not value for money.

Staff were really friendly, the social area was comfy although could have used the sofa space better, price was great for Newcastle and location is good for access to the town.
No bar (although bringing your own drinks in is acceptable), no drawers for clothes.

There wasn’t much to like to be honest.
The area is horrendous. Genuinely. Horrendous. I get you don’t spend much time at the hotel, somewhere to crash. But, wow. The rooms are seriously dated. There was so much noise from other people staying in to the early hours. The walls are paper thin. The beds were so uncomfortable. If you were to pay me, I wouldn’t go back.

It’s not like I like it but just ok (nothing more than ok)
There is no lift if you have heavy luggage then you have problem, and kind of old building, tiny room …etc but room was clean.

Very easy check in and check out, very nice and friendly staff. Clean bedroom, good size, comfortable mattress.
Bathroom/shower needs some renovation (could be newer)

Good location. Woman on reception was lovely.
It was DISGUSTING. I think if I showered I would’ve came out dirtier than I went in. There was dark marks on the wall that looked like blood!!! The room had a horrible smoke and tobacco smell and was extremely stuffy. Had the windows open the full time and the smell was still there. Could hear everything outside the door and above us which would’ve been fine if we weren’t right next to the stairs and common area.

The staff were very welcoming, the room was spotless, and the hotel is in a perfect location near the Newcastle city center. Also, it has a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Outstanding value for money.
Nothing serious to mention. The Wi-Fi was a bit slow at a certain time, but it didn’t affect my overall stay.

They left a good luck note for my great north run. The lady at reception was very friendly. Beddington clean.
Tiny room. Shower looked as though it hadn’t been used in years. Towel on a shelf so high up a five foot high person can’t reach. No breakfast.
6.0 / 10.0
Staff went above and beyond to have our room ready early for us and was clean and bed was comfy for our stay.
No breakfast option, vending machine had nothing in, went outside in the morning and saw 3 rats around the streets surrounding the hotel. Location was in a convenient place for us ,but after speaking with locals we were at event they said we were brave to me staying in that area. No decent food places around and as a coeliac person really struggled to eat at the weekend. Would also suggest putting some outside seating on the grass out the front to allow smokers somewhere to go instead of standing at the entrance. It’s a very noisy hotel and we could hear people walking about most of the night. Was it the worst hotel no, was it the best also no and I wouldn’t return unfortunately. It could be a real gem of a place with some love and tlc.
