A hidden gem - charming and quaint

This is a hidden gem! After a long rather fraught journey with little kids it was a relief to discover the hotel was perfect. Our room was 2 adjoining ones, perfect with kids. We had a very nice bottle of wine on arrival. A great nights sleep, stretching our legs in the beautiful grounds and exceptional breakfast. We would go back in a heartbeat.

We booked a superior room but it did not feel it. Could not keep the room dark due to the slopping roof and curtains nowhere near the window. A constant humming throughout the night was a cause of irratation.

We will return whenever we are travelling through France.

It is a lovely old house, beautifully and tasteful renovated. The bedrooms are spacious and well appointed. The breakfast is sumptuous and of very high quality. The location is perfect - it is very peaceful but only a few minutes from the motorway. Four hours from the Tunnel. They recommend a restaurant in the village which doesn't look very promising but which serves excellent, simple food in enormous quantities. There is no choice of wine but it is excellent so who cares. I think the pricing is very fair in the current climate considering the quality of what is offered.

Wonderful setting, delicious breakfast and a charming hostess.

Wonderful setting and charming hostess - a romantic French country house with the stable block converted into rooms in addition to the main house. Generous breakfast hosted in the house with a classic tablescape in a light-filled room. Very atmospheric.

Our stable block room did not feel particularly 'fresh'. Our room was a bit gloomy and over-filled with themed decorations (in this case, Indonesian) which seemed unnecessarily fussy when it could have kept the same mood of the main house - simple and classic.

Nothing to like here. Totally misrepresented on booking.com and absolutely the worst place we have ever stayed at. We refused to pay the price and only paid £55.00 and that was too Much!

Room was dirty, bathroom toilet roll holder took the form of an old plastic garden chair, very odd tableau of a Saharan water hole, featuring a real dried baby goat carcass and a black builders bucket. The outside terrace was in fact an overgrown weed patch.
