All in this hotel was great; The room was comfy with a great view, cleanliness. But overall, the staff and owners! they make a huge difference, They help and procure tickets to 2 different visit areas we went.
Service, breakfast and lounge at fireplace were great!
We really loved staying there and would have loved to stayed at least 2 more nights.

The view is unmatched. We had an upper floor corner view room and despite it being rainy for a few days, our view was spectacular.
Breakfast was good with fresh breads/croissants, meats/cheeses, hard/soft boiled eggs, juices, fruits, yogurts, jellies, cereals, and more. Coffee and tea was also served.
The property was very cute and had an authentic Swiss Alpine feel. The location was perfect, in short walking distance to everything including Grindelwald Terminal.
There was no charge for parking.
There's a game room on the bottom floor with books, games, billiards, a card table, and more. Perfect for a rainy day/night.
The staff and the owners at the front desk were delightful and very helpful and accommodating.
There's no thermostats in the rooms - it's all central heating. It was quite hot at night, especially with the down comforters. We needed to keep the windows open at night - which caused us to wake up frequently when large trucks would drive by on the street, especially after 5am. When the windows were closed, though, everything was nice and silent.
The wifi was good, and we were able to relax to a show before bed on a tablet, but there was no way to do anything with the TVs in the room. The system they have does not allow casting or screen mirroring, nor does it allow any apps such as Netflix, Disney, etc. As tourists who speak English, we didn't really watch any of the mainly Swiss German channels that were available through the TV. I'd recommend bringing a Chromecast or something that'll allow you to use your own apps or cast to the screen.

View was great, location was close to town. Owners were super helpful. They gave us great advice on hikes to do and even printed tickets for the train and the tram for us. Breakfast was delicious. We ate two dinners there and they were also very good.

Great location, amazing view from our room and balcony- exceptional staff !!
Our room was a little warm and the only way to cool it off was to open a window. Also there was a step down in the Junior suite room that we needed to be careful of.

Hotel exuded the care the family has taken over generations to develop a hotel with unique and beautiful finishes. The breakfast was continental but was great. The views from our balcony were breathtaking.

The room was exceptional and the staff were so warm and accommodating! Fabulous location at the quieter end of town which was so peaceful but everything was still incredibly accessible (we were only a 5 minute walk to the First cable car). We wish we had booked a longer stay!
It would have been nice to have a hot option for breakfast, but this was by no means a deal-breaker - what was offered for breakfast was very tasty and the breakfast room was gorgeous and cosy.

Located on the edge of town away from the noise, with fantastic views all around. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We had the 4 course evening meal on 3 of our 4 nights there, and all were very tasty.
Nothing to dislike

The view was fantastic and we loved having a balcony to sit out at night in the cool air and look out over the mountains and country side. Breakfast was incredible, served on linen table cloths with china tea and coffer cups and tea and coffee and milk served in individual silver servings. The ladies who served breakfast were so kind and professional.
The only downside is that there were many flies at breakfast due to the fact that the doors were left open to bring in the cool mountain air.

Absolutely wonderful stay. Loved the alpine feel. The owners were very attentive to our questions. Very clean. Nice breakfast with a good variety of choices. The fixed dinner was not our style but was good. The location was perfect and the view from our room was perfect. Could relax on the hotel front porch with a aperitif and relax. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely view, friendly staff and great feel to the hotel. The set menu was delicious and they were good at catering for me, as someone who is lactose and gluten intolerant
My bedroom smelt very strongly of fresh wood, which kept making me sneeze in the night! And the rooms were very expensive compared to other areas of Switzerland (I am guessing this might just be the way in Grindelwald) Otherwise comfortable and very quiet.

An exceptional family-run hotel full of charm and natural beauty. Our rooms were spotless, recently renovated, and featured a spacious balcony with stunning views of the mountains and surrounding landscape. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. The breakfast was delicious and offered a great variety. I highly recommend this wonderful hotel for anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable stay.
nothing that I didn't like, everything was perfect to my taste.

Very helpful with getting around town. The view from the balcony was stunning. Have coin operated washer/dryer. Staff was great. Much storage space for clothes and luggage. Could print tickets to the Jungfraujoch at the front desk.
Shower was tight and it was disconcertingly easy to knock the shower door off the track. A refrigerator would h ave been helpful - I’m diabetic and had to make other plans for keeping my insulin cool.

Very silent room, room view was really nice, dinner and breakfast were really good and very attent to detail.
Check-in very fast, and thanks a lot for keeping our bags after check-out; this was a great help.
Bus stop in front of hotel in both directions, so very easy to arrive from main station.

Such a beautiful stay with rustic charm right in the heart of Grindelwald! Thank you to the super lovely staff who were very accomodating, even checking in on us the day we arrived in Grindelwald and offering us a lift from the station to the hotel was greatly appreciated!!
To wake up to the incredible views of the mountains from right outside our room balcony was surreal! 😍

Location and breakfast
Old small rooms, smelly, no AC, people smoking on their balconies and it’s impossible to open windows, because the cigarettes smell goes into the room.

The room was large, tastefully decorated, exceptionally well-lighted and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner a pleasure with the attentive staff and great food. The view from our terrace was totally awesome.
Nothing. The experience so far exceeded our expectations that there are no complaints. We celebrated our 65th wedding anniversary here. The owners and staff made us feel like honored guests- an unforgettable experience!

A lovely family run authentic hotel, full of charm and history. We felt welcomed straight away, our room had wonderful wooden alpine architecture with a balcony view of the mountains. Plenty of storage for cloths and a huge comfortable bed. Although we booked for B&B, we found the daily dinner menu so good and reasonably priced that we ate at the hotel every night, although our decision was influenced by the tendency for rain to occur during the evenings. Good fortune, as we had five days walking without any rain. Young and old, we are both approaching 75, were at the hotel and it was a convivial place to dine, with much chatter between quests. All the staff were lovely, but we would like to mention Rossi and Joseph for their attentive care and send them our best wishes. We highly recommend Hotel Gletschergarten.

Fantastic stay! Had a small and very quaint single room with an Amazing top floor balcony view of the mountains & church! The room was very comfortable & quiet!
Gaby & Gery were wonderful hosts and very kind & friendly too! The breakfast and dinner were delicious, with beautiful views of the mountains!
It was fun exploring all the unique dining rooms and the old photos and antiques in the creaky stairways. There was a surprise moment when I heard some loud, clanging cow bells from the breakfast room! I went out the front door and there were many cows marching up the street with their beautiful bells! 😊
There are so many great hiking opportunities around Grindelwald! I did a long steep hike to Brandegg train station! It was a very rewarding hike with Amazing panoramic views in every direction! Every once in a while, you could hear a noise that sounded like thunder. I believe it was the ice falling from the Eiger!
There's a bus stop just a few steps from the hotel! There are so many choices for excursions, that I have to keep coming back again and again!
