The location and the room were magical. The view of the mountain and the feeling that you actually stayed at the Swiss Alpes,
There was a sink damaged and it smelled bad.

Beautiful scenic view. Really accomodating and kind staff. Brilliant value for money. Amazing park outside . We really enjoyed breakfast and had a nice evening meal. We couldn’t fault our stay and will definitely be back.

Location was super cool .
Staff were super nice and helpful .
Property was clean.
Dinner was very good with many options.
Near to the Bort cable car station .
My room was super small even though I booked Quadruple room. Height of the room on one side was only 1.2 m tall which was very disappointing . Hit our head multiple times on the roof in few hours. It is very unsafe if we do not wear helmet inside the room(107).
Wash room was not attached and need to go through a corridor which was another hassle.

The location and kitchen is superb with amazing views on the Eiger mountain. At night it is quiet . The room was beautiful decorated.

Location is superb being the first stop on the Gondola from Grindelwald to First . Room was spacious for a family of 4, very clean, big bathroom, cozy with amazing views of the mountains.
Breakfast was nice with all the essentials -fruit, yoghurt, freshly baked Swiss bread and croissants, Swiss cheese and a variety of teas and warm drinks.Fresh eggs are also available and made the way you like. We required halal, and the staff were really good in ensuring that our food was made separately from any non halal products.
Chilli, the Chef and restaurant staff were fantastic , from before you arrive they get in contact and check up on you .Really pleasant and professional .
Recommend staying here as you have access to Grindelwald and First..do some research based on your number of days to see if it’s worth getting the Jungfrau pass - in that way you’ll have transport access and passes for the entire region .

The hotel's staff were all so nice! We had a great time sitting and talking with Dave and Quentin and the chefs, Chili welcomed us so nicely. It's a very warm and family place. The design of the place is very cozy and welcoming
Location was perfect for us but it is far from the centre.. We liked it cuz it's quiet and the view is 10/10
And there is a very nice playground for kids

unbelievable hotel with spectacular mountain views at Grindelwald. We had fantastic experience and stay at this hotel, high up at the hill.
This is also half stop cable car to top mountain, very famous leisures high up
The road to the hotel is really a little bit tricky and a little bit dangerous and you need to drive up to the hill in one way road. What if you face another car in front of view! but you could make it, go ahead
My wife was scared and asked me to cancel this booking😊, then at check out, she said, one of the best hotel, and asked to extend more
Never to come late after sunset
There is nothing to do around, enjoy the view, watch caws and you might ride cable car to the top mountain, this cable car is very famous
Be careful, I heard there are rooms with private toilets but outside the room, luckily not our case

It’s a lovely hotel nestled in the mountains with spectacular views, perfect for walking and exploring the area. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh eggs and croissants, good coffee but not many varieties, but what they offered was excellent. If you’re planning Grindelwald First activities, the location is ideal, just nearby.
The separate bathroom outside the room was a bit inconvenient. Although it was mentioned during booking, I hadn’t noticed, and given the price, I expected more in-room amenities. The bed also felt like two twins pushed together rather than a proper double or queen, and my message to confirm and inquire the arrangement wasn’t answered and staff was not there. Staff can be hard to find, especially if checking in late. Additionally, the gondola isn’t included to go there and return to the town, I feel it should be discounted or covered considering the room rate.

Amazing views. Excellent staff. Clean, comfortable, and warm.

Breakfast could be better with warm food.
Hotel should have fridge and kettle.
There is a restaurant but with limited menu. We have to spend gondola fee to go down to buy food so the cost adds up.

The location was breathtaking, we enjoy the mountain views at night. The menu at the hotel‘s restaurant was excellence. The tranquility of the surrounding was relaxing.
Well about this, I‘am just surprised that the cheapest room were the toilet are separated from the room itself. I found uncomfortable about it. Also there‘s a spider web on a single bed.

The view from here is like a glimpse of heaven. You will not find a more beautiful location anywhere. The room was clean and comfortable. The food was delicious and the staff were very helpful. This is probably the most gorgeous place I've ever stayed. There is instant access to many activities on the mountains.
Nothing.

We definitely love the amazing view & of course the breakfast. The dinner that we had is one of the best meal we had during our vacation. We also would like to thank the staff for their great service. Location was fantastic and waking up in the morning with spectacular views of the mountains are the highlights offered by the hotel..They also serve very good breakfast
We didn't like that we only had to stay for one day.

Super friendly staff. Amazing location. To get there by car was a great experience for us.
Quite expensive for what you get. But for Grindelwald normal I guess. Would expect a water cooker plus coffee/tea, a comfortable chair and minibar/refrigerator in the room for this price.

Our stay at Alpinhotel Bort was simply unforgettable. The location is perfect—above Grindelwald with stunning views and direct access to nearby attractions. Our kids spent hours climbing in the adventure park while we relaxed on the restaurant terrace, enjoying a cold beer and the amazing scenery.
The staff in the restaurant made us feel truly welcome with warm, friendly chats. Our room was spacious, cozy, and ideal for our family of five, with breathtaking views that greeted us each morning.
We visited in summer, but imagining this place as a snowy winter wonderland has us already planning our return. Alpinhotel Bort is a gem—family-friendly and so beautifully located, will stay close to our heart for sure.

The views were amazing!
Could only be accessed by a gondola that was pretty expensive and only ran until 5:30 each day so we weren’t able to have dinner in town. The food at the hotel was very good but we would have loved to have more options for dinner.

we loved the hospitality and welcoming attitude, especially Lucas, with a smile he helped and addressed all the questions!! we had lunch and dinner at this hotel, just amazing and priced right, food was delicious and high quality.
We drove to this hotel, which is single narrow road shared with hikers, bikers and other cars!!
The room we got has low sealing, which might be hard to person who has good height, I hit my head multiple times.

Location and views were amazing. Nice room design with bunk beds for kids.
Sloping ceiling was uncomfortable. Toilet and shower was detached and wasn’t clear when we booked. Limited breakfast options.

Great location
Weird room. Originally they offered room with bath out in the hallway. After complaint moved us to weird room with hard to get in and out of bed and no chairs

We spent two nights at Alpinhotel Bort in late May and had an amazing stay. The room was huge, spotless, and packed with great amenities. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming—even surprising our eldest son with a lovely birthday message, which made the stay extra special. Despite our late arrival, they accommodated us without any issue. The hotel is situated in a stunning location with easy access to the First Peak, offering breathtaking views, and we had a blast on the nearby Trottibikes. The on-site restaurant was excellent, though on the pricier side. A bonus for EV drivers: they have electric car chargers available.
Just a note for those driving: the road up is very narrow and partly closed due to construction, so a diversion is needed—plan your route carefully. In late autumn or winter, the cable car is the only way to reach the hotel.

Absolutely everything! The staff working there should get gold medal and even more! We felt incredibly welcomed. Everyone working there was amazing! From cleaning staff to chefs, servers, receptionists. The view is also amazing, but what is the top on this place are the people working there.
Great, comfortable bed, room perfectly clean, tasty breakfast. Thank you!

Staying at this mountain-top hotel was a memorable experience. The view from up there is absolutely stunning—truly one of a kind. The road to get there was very narrow and challenging, but also incredibly scenic.
While the atmosphere and location were amazing, the Wi-Fi connection was quite poor, and the price felt a bit high for what was offered. Still, if you're looking for peace, nature, and a spectacular view, it's worth considering.

If you want the best accommodation overlooking the north face of The Mighty Eiger, look no further than Alpinhotel Bort. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food in the restaurant was delicious, and the room was very clean and comfortable. You can be the first person of the day to visit First because of its unique location. I would definitely go again.

The hotel misrepresents its location and puts guests at serious risk. Accessing the hotel requires driving on an extremely steep and narrow road, which becomes highly dangerous, especially in winter. Despite these hazards, the hotel management refuses to accept cancellation requests, leaving guests with no alternative.
Additionally, due to the difficulty of reaching the town center, guests are forced to dine at the hotel’s restaurants. The claim that the hotel is ‘2.2 km from Grindelwald center’ is misleading—staying here feels more like being trapped on top of a mountain. If you value your freedom and safety, I strongly advise against booking this hotel.

A great place to stay. Waking up in the morning to the Eiger right in front of you was amazing.
The staff were very friendly and helpful
Breakfast. The range of food was good, but when you see flies crawling over some of it, it sorta puts you off eating it. We steered clear of any foods that were uncovered. The staff need to simply cover the food adequately. Flies in the orange juice and the milk really put you off.

The hotels location is incredible. We were driving and trust me driving to the location is not for faint hearted. It's located at very top of the mountain. It's secluded. We stayed a night here but wanted to stay more. The hotel is extremely pretty and the rooms were decent size. The interiors we fell in love with. The hotel staff at the reception was very helpful, smiling and friendly. They also have restaurant where you can eat food. There is mutliple activities that you can do. Everything was great. Ample parking available. This hotel is not located at city centre and only way to go down is by either gondola, or car.
No coffee or tea machine inside the room. Checkout at 9 pm and check in at 3. That's not even full 24 hours that you are paying for. Breakfast options was very less.
