Lovely and cosy.

The location couldn’t be more perfect if you are coming from train ! Right next to it. The hotel is really charming, cosy, friendly and super amusing team, there is a fantastic sauna what makes the day incredible to relax at night. The room is absolutely lovely, I had two balconies with wonderful view to the mountains, bed and pillows very comfortable, excellent bathroom with two sinks and heater. Definitely the best place ! We had a lovely stay. Thank you !

Great value, not a good room but great staff and location

Staff were excellent, as was the location to train bus and town.

Limited breakfast and not great dinner choices. Noise and staff smoking on the level below meant our room was full of smoke and noisy, plus too hot so needed the window open

Exceptional hotel and experience

Beyond terrific experience. Rooms were spacious and beds were incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with abundant variety. Location cannot be beat. Although it is feet away from the train station, you can't hear the trains. We loved the hotel and our time here.

Good location. Breakfast was not great at all and staff was not the best at restaurant

Location was great. Staff at reception were so helpful and nice.

The breakfast option was not great I asked for a fried egg as the only had scrambled egg and bacon and I was told no I would have to pay. There was not a great selection for breakfast and staff at the restaurant was not great at all.

Ideal location with stunning restaurant

Such easy access to train which makes travelling either luggage easy. For people skiing, it’s perfect to not have to walk a distance or bus to hotel. Beautiful decor in restaurant

Comfortable in Grindelwald

Very large room, about twice the size of the other 3 hotels on our trip through Switzerland. Ricardo gave us super helpful advice on excursions and restaurants we might enjoy. The view from our 4th floor balcony was stunning. Being next to the train station very convenient (Swiss trains are electric and quiet). Location on the end of the business district is close to everything and allowed for quiet walks through the residential streets. Great breakfast foods and helpful staff.

Cannot recommend.

Reception was good and kind. Very accommodating. Team in restaurant for first dinner were knowledgeable. They gave a nice terrace on 4th floor.

Bfst was terrible due to product variety and quality but mainly due to an Asian lady who was incredibly rude with zero customer service. Product is dated and totally overpriced.

A lovely hotel with good value and an unbeatable location.

The Derby Hotel is literally just steps away from Platform 3 at the Grindelwald train station. Sparkling clean and quiet room with a lovely balcony and mountain views! The reception team was welcoming, courteous and very helpful. They will safely store your luggage on arrival before check-in hours and likewise upon check-out if you are touring Grindelwald during the day. The hotel also has a nice restaurant serving a tasty Swiss fondue. Breakfast offers a good spread of local dishes and fresh products. Considering the hotel rates of comparable hotels in Grindelwald, the Derby Hotel is very good value.

Lovely hotel, all rooms have a nice view of the mountains and glacier, comfortable free parking, great breakfast with a lot of choice, had ventilator in the room which is very useful in the absence of the AC

Exceeded my expectation. Location was 10/10 convenient when using trains as much as we were.

the staff was wonderful from the checking in process. I am very glad we ended up on the top floor (cant remember if it was 4 or 5) but that floor has a common space, like a living room, lounge indoor seating as well as a balcony with a bar like setting. It felt great to get off the elevator into this spacious room and hang if we didnt want to go to the room yet. Simply lovely. Did not hear one train despite being almost at the train station. Gorgeous cottage-like dining room. Very spacious. Great selections for breakfast. Fantastic mountain view.

Great but one staff at breakfast area

The room was excellent and the location next to the train station was very convenient. Most of the staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming, both at the front desk and in the breakfast area. However, there was one tall female staff member with short black hair who came across as somewhat distant and unapproachable, perhaps due to seniority. Aside from that, everything else was wonderful, and I would have rated my stay a perfect 10.
