Spectacular view from the dorm and the restaurant area. Very hospitable staff and ample breakfast buffet. Well-connected by the local bus network to the main ski lifts. Close enough to the town centre to walk for some shopping in the evening. I booked a single dorm bed and was given a whole 4-bed dorm to myself.
My dorm room was a bit sparsely equipped for four: a single light for the room, two electrical sockets, 1 USB-A port and one USB-C port. The self-service kitchen was also spartan: just a microwave and kettle to work with.

Just as was expected from the details before booking.
As i used top bunkbed a little ladder would have been helpful to access bed.

The location is great. There’s a bus stop right in front of the property, just a few stops from the city center and the gondolas.
The staff is super friendly, and the breakfast is great.

We had a lovely time! Friendly and helpful staff, especially the male who checked us in and the male cleaner (sorry forgot names) Breakfast was very nice and there was a lot of choice. Our room was clean and tidy and the beds were so comfortable. The views from the windows were amazing. The hotel is in a good location and there is a bus stop right outside. We will be returning!
Nothing. Everything was 10/10

Quaint Swiss hotel
A little more robust breakfast, more friendly staff would make it exceptional.

Grindelwald's surrounding mountains from any window or the terrace are outstanding (though hard not to in this particular town) There's a sink and mirror in the private rooms which is convenient and a food storage area (no fridge) The bathrooms were clean always and the breakfast is quite varied.
Staff were unwelcoming and extremely short-worded. A lady who worked there was rude when I attempted to have a snack in the restaurant area and laughed at the fact that I asked If I could even sit.
At first sight it may seem cozy but it's quite dark inside and so incredibly quiet / filled with historic images it's actually eery. The terrace is not as pictured (with tables/flowers / outdoor umbrellas) there were 3 tiny tables and an ash tray.
The eating area is essentially a table with two chairs in a semi-basement style room with no heating (which makes it feel like an industrial freezer)

Mountain view and cheaper choice in Grindewald
The breakfast is relatively simple and not much choices, hotel is quite far from the main station, walking with luggage is relatively not practical.

The staff especially the girl with the glasses at the restaurant downstairs was rude.

all good

The location is comfortable just a 15’ walk outside the Grindelwald center with a magnificent view on the Eiger from both the room; the restaurant as the roof top terrace.
In essence there is not much not to like. The only small ‘inconvenience’ was the lack of bedside power outlets. The room only had one socket near the sink. There was a 4way connection plug provided so enough options to charge. But personally I like my phone/alarm clock next to me.

Super great location, not too far from the main part of town but far enough away to be in a quiet area. The rooms were good, nothing amazing but very nice still! Breakfast was very good and had a decent amount of options. Overall a great place to stay.

Well located right next to the bus station. Nice clean room and great shower pressure and hot water
The pillows were quite flat and not very comfortable.
The breakfast is extremely basic and there is no variation from day to day. Overall a good option but definitely more on the budget side.

The view.
The location as it was rather central.
People walked by our room when walking on the terrace, that gave us a feeling of no privacy.
The breakfast was bland.
No coffee making utilities.
Staff didn’t greet us, it may have been a language barrier issue? Only the housekeepers greeted us every morning.
You can hear everything going on around you as it is an old house (this is listed at the property)
There is no lift (listed on booking.com)

Great staff who helped us with walking routes. The place was super clean and the breakfast was all you could need.
Nothing. The bar not being open on a Sunday wasn’t ideal but you know that when booking so can make other plans for the evening

We really enjoyed the views of the surrounding mountains, the top floor terrace, the friendly staff, and dinner at the restaurant in Hotel Alpenblick served local delicious dishes!

location
I don’t know how this hotel gets an 8/10 rating, because my experience was nowhere close.
Sure, the location is near the bus stop, breakfast is just okay, and one gentleman on staff was polite. But the rest? A total letdown.
Two of the ladies working here were flat-out rude. Ask them a question and you get a nasty look, like you’re a problem for wanting basic answers.
Dorm rooms are tiny, cramped, and the decks are ridiculously low.
Pillows are terrible you’ll wake up with a stiff neck, guaranteed.
Flies everywhere. For a hotel, that’s disgusting.
Internet is so slow it’s basically useless.
This hotel might fool you with decent reviews, but the reality is very different. The way guests are treated (In my case) here is unacceptable, and the facilities don’t measure up. I would never recommend this place to anyone friends, family, or all followers.
Pay a bit more and will get a better service,

Breathtaking view from our window and a large outside terrace with tables and chairs just down the hall always open, even for stargazing!Wonderful old hotel with history and charm! Don’t expect luxury accommodations but if you want an authentic Swiss experience away from the touristy center of town this is the place. Short walk or bus ride to town. Delicious breakfast buffet and restaurant on site. Laundry facilities.Stayed 3 nights- not long enough!
Service not too friendly at front desk or in restaurant.

Wonderful Stay!
Stayed 3 nights at Alpenblick and it was amazing! Staff were friendly, breakfast was tasty, and the views of the Alps in the morning were unforgettable. The location was a bit tricky on the first day as the bus stops around 6:45 pm, so we had to carry our luggage—but it was totally worth it. Highly recommend!

Easy to find and get to. You get an entire bunk bed set to yourself. They have lockers but the key is at the front desk (no self locker situation). Plenty of toliets ans showers. Laundry is 5chf per wash and 5chf per dry. Detergent included. Only one setting for wash
The common kitchen/dining room was small and bare.

Great view from the room, comfy bed & a laundry downstairs.
Minimal breakfast options & a little bit out of town, but the bus stop is just outside.

The hotel and facilities were spotless. The room was a lot bigger than we expected and the view was gorgeous. The breakfast was lovely- a generous selection of breads, cheese, cereals and hot drinks.
Some of the staff weren’t particularly friendly. We were invited to sit down for drinks on the patio upon checking but soon after a waitress asked us to leave because we weren’t ordering dinner.

I think we had one of the best rooms in this hotel on the 2nd floor. It opened out directly onto the large terrace and the views were exceptional. There is a lot of criticism about the lack of choice of breakfast, however we were more than satisfied with the choice over our 4 days. The most convenient aspect of this Hotel is that the bus stop is directly outside. Make sure you ask for your Guest Pass which gives you free bus travel and 15% off some of the cable cars, train rides etc...
Summer is here and its very warm at night. It was suggested we could open up the windows to allow the cool air in, however this is a tourist town and people are either walking past very late at night having a great time, or the cars are speeding up and down the road. So its broken sleep with the noise, or no sleep with the lack of ventilation. A pedestal fan in the rooms would be an easy fix and guests can have a decent nights sleep.
The staff provide a lot of information prior to arrival on the Booking.Com site, but unfortunately like us we missed the bit about the Guest Card, and only found out about it at the Information Centre a whole day later. Luckily the lady there was kind enough to organise one for us immediately, and even though we missed out on the 15% discount on First Cable Car, we were able to get it on many other modes of transport the following day.
It would be great, if at check-in when charging the City Tax, if Reception could mention about registering for the Guest Card.

Absolutely beautiful view toward the less busy end of town nice to be able to walk down to the restaurants. lovely outdoor seating area to sit and enjoy takeout pizza or breakfast loft was great with teenagers
Breakfast was just so so not a lot of choices for vegetarians, stairs to loft might be challenging for younger kids

I believe its a hostel and not a hotel. The room was clean. The toilets and shower rooms were clean even though they were shared. The location was great just next to the bus stop
Parking is free and the view is amazing from the hotel.
It was a bit expensive as per the facility but considering the location, don't think it can be called as expensive.

Staff were nice. Breakfast was okay. Certainly could use fresh fruit vs the fruit cocktail type of option and old apples. Fresh fruit would be a great option. Brewed coffee was weak and lukewarm each morning so used machine brew. Bread was fresh and good.
As noted above. Fruit was minimal and poor. Coffee in pot was weak and lukewarm each morning. Our room was by the road and was noisy.
