Character cottage equipped to a high standard in picturesque harbour town.

Excellent location down quiet alley off the High Street. Cottage had been newly renovated with quality furnishings and carpets. Plenty to do and see in Kirkcudbright.

Comfortable beds, good shower downstairs. Decor and stocked kitchen

1st floor shower leaked during one use (of three). Oven struggled to get to temperature. Windows generally locked

Very much enjoyed our stay at Blue Door cottage and the chance to explore Kirkcudbright

Loved the location and the history of the property. Very comfy sitting room and bed rooms with plenty of towels. Well equipped kitchen, maybe with the addition of some smaller tumblers, or tooth mugs in the bathrooms.

Great location

The location is great - very central & close to Broughton House & local Co-op. The general décor was nice.

The heating was on a timer which was unable to be changed. This meant that at times we were very cold, with no way to adjust. You can't use the fires in the property. The cottage was not entirely clean. The décor could do with being updated.

Fantastic located cottage in a very pretty little town

Location was excellent, everything was extremely clean and tidy

When we opened the front door we were hit with an absolutely overpowering smell of disinfectant/ jeyes fluid that meant we had to rush round trying to open windows. It was really awful way to start the stay! I also thought the kitchen was very gloomy, could do with some more lighting and the bedding was very old, I think for the price we paid for two nights I would expect 100% cotton sheets at least, and feather pillows at most! Plus it wasn’t clear on the instructions that it was a shared garden not accessed by the house which is a bit of pain when you bring a dog.

A perfectly pretty cottage in a beautiful and interesting location.

The location of The Blue door was perfect, right in the heart of Kirkcudbright close to all the shops, cafes and restaurants. It is a very cosy and quaint cottage filled with Arts and Crafts furniture. It had everything we needed for our stay and was very comfortable and clean. We loved its historical context with the artist Jessie M King. The little garden at the end of the close was charming to sit in with our morning coffee and allowed our dog to stretch her legs.
