The host of Lignaul Cottage clearly wants her guests to have a picture perfect holiday. As others have said, the online pictures don’t do it justice. The cottage is very bright, with large windows bringing the beautiful scenery inside. There are lovely decorative touches in every room that enhance the feeling you are in a comfy home, not just another rental.
The cottage is well furnished and fully equipped. Everything you need is in the modern kitchen. Linens are very high quality, and our host Bridget even added electric blankets to make sure we were warm. The shower in the bathroom is also fully up to date, and there was a full supply of soaps, shampoos, paper, etc.
The washing machine is efficient and quiet. The proved drying rack made drying clothes very easy
The location of Lignaul Cottage is perfect for exploring County Donegal and other areas. About 20 minutes to charming Donegal town. And getting to the Cottage is easier than access of other Irish properties I have used. You are on main paved roads up until about the last 1 1/2 kilometers… then about 2 minutes on the smaller roads. We rarely saw any other vehicles, so it was always easy to access the property (even though my rental agency ended up giving me a much larger vehicle than I wanted.)
Our host Bridget communicated clearly and promptly. She left a book with information and instructions which was very helpful. She also a has a small collection of books that have interesting information about the history of the area.
I hope I can get back to this area sometime in the future. I highly recommend the place.

Quiet location close to family. Well laid out and all the facilities that we needed.
Tv could have been a bit bigger and a little more modern. Just so we could connect to it. We were only in one night so it did not effect our experience too much.

The house was charming and very clean. Everything in the house was of high quality and had everything we could possibly need to make our stay perfect. Bridget, our host, was very welcoming and extremely helpful. The house is close to Donegal and near the coast so here is lots to do and see in the area. Also, the locals were friendly and chatty. We hope to return soon, one of the best holidays I have experienced.
