The caravan location was good. The facilities at the park were amazing.
It would have been a very pleasant stay if the gas had stayed on and the owner wasn't so accusatory following our departure.
The first night the gas wasn't switched on and we didn't realise so freezing all night. We figured it out when we woke up. Turned the heating on for a couple of hours, all good. The gas went during the night on our 2nd night which meant we woke up to a cold caravan again. No way to cook and no hot water. I messaged the owner to advise and he talked me through how to check the boiler (we'd already done this) it wasn't the boiler as the cooker wasn't working either. It was the lack of gas in the cannister and no back up cannister. We were only staying 2 nights and were checking out anyway so said not to worry. Also. The gas cert was out of date and said there was a potential leak.
The owner had messaged me to say to be careful of the chairs at the dining table as they aren't steady. My mum leant on one whilst getting her shoes on and the whole thing collapsed. Could have been dangerous but also meant there was no way the family could sit and eat a meal at the dining table. Obviously we put the chair back together but they are just for show.
After we had left, I got a message from the owner that was a photo of a biro mark on a some fabric. I recognised it as had seen it on our arrival and considered taking a photo of it myself. However this biro mark was now being blamed on my family and the owner advised he would keep the deposit of £50 to either clean or reupholster the furniture. He explained the cleaners did videos of the caravan before and after each stay. O tried to contact him by phone but he did not pick up and then messaged to say he would contact later which he never did. I can only assume this is a regular trick to keep deposits. So maybe just make sure to cover yourself and take the photo. I haven't been contacted to show any time stamped photo or video of the pre check. Nor have I seen a time stamped photo or video of the post check. Just some biro on some fabric.
