The location of the caravan was also a big factor for us. It was close to the main facilities and amenities that my parents enjoy, which is important to them. They have been coming to Chapel St Leonards since I was a child, and I turn 50 this year, so it has been a special place for our family for many years. It is somewhere they have always loved visiting and where they have many happy memories.

There was a mix-up when my parents arrived. I had originally made the booking in my own name rather than my mum’s. I realised the mistake and updated the booking within a few minutes, and I received a confirmation email confirming that the lead name had been changed to my mum’s. However, when my parents arrived, the booking could not be found under her name. After some confusion, they were eventually given a key and were able to access the caravan. The following day, I received an email stating that the booking had been cancelled and that payment would need to be made again. Unfortunately, we were not in a position to make a second payment immediately and had to wait for the original payment to be refunded before we could pay again. Throughout this situation, my main concern was that my parents, who were already staying in the caravan, might be asked to leave before the issue could be resolved. The whole experience caused a great deal of unnecessary stress and worry, despite the fact that I had amended the booking details shortly after making the reservation and had received confirmation that the change had been processed.
