The Reading three bedroom chalet with gardens, suitable for contractors

Lovely surroundings, good sized bedrooms with the easy possibility of a fourth with the sofa bed, excellent and very accommodating hosts.

Comfortable and quiet. Host was great and accommodating.

I may be being picky but I dropped something on the floor in one of the bedrooms and under the bed was filthy. Surface level stuff was good though. It was difficult to find when using the address. What3words would be really useful.

The friendliness of the owner and his son; the grounds are lovely; the location of the property was perfect for our plans.

It wasn’t a problem, but we definitely needed the fans to stay cool in the heat.

We could get Netflix on the TV in the living room which was helpful as well we were unable to get freeview on that TV. The beds were also comfy which plenty of beds for our family of 5. The chalet is secluded which means you have lots of privacy. The outside area was lovely but as we stayed here in December we were unable to enjoy it, but I’m sure it would be brilliant in spring/summer. I must also add that the hosts were very welcoming and friendly.

Firstly, we ran out of hot water on one of the mornings. This meant that some of us had to endure cold showers which was not ideal. The showers were not in the best condition either. The doors of the shower in the main bathroom nearly fell off when we tried to close them. These doors also did not completely shut properly which meant that the bathroom floor became quite wet. In addition, the shower head in one of the other bathrooms seemed broken as the shower head would droop down and not stay upright. There is only 1 full-length mirror in the whole property which was situated in one of the bedrooms. The rest of the mirrors were in the bathrooms (no other mirrors in any of the other bedrooms) which wasn’t ideal. Furthermore, there appeared to be no heating in the kitchen which is the main area of the property. This meant that it was quite cold when we were cooking/eating. Also, the main living room area is quite small. The kitchen area is much larger so we found we spent more time here than in the living room.
