Penny Perfect By The Quays & Beach in Old Portsmouth

We loved staying here. It was a brilliant location and felt cozy and secure. The beds were comfy. The house was clean and the host was welcoming.

The location was perfect and in a safe and decent neighbourhood. It was a 10 minute walking distance from Bath Square with two of our favourite watering holes Still & West and Spice Island. It was also very easy to get out of Portsmouth in all directions to explore the surrounding area. There was free parking available just outside the apartment. It was home from home, everything was there for a comfortable stay. We initially booked an apartment not too far away and were horrified at the neighbourhood. Without even stopping at the apartment we explored Booking.com and booked Jozie’s apartment around 4pm. Jozie without flinching came off the beach where she was spending the afternoon to our aid. She personally arrived at the apartment and made sure we were settled in.

The house was impressive. Very clean and looked very well kept and in order. Towels included as well, and many kitchen utensils to cook. Everything in the house worked well: oven, microwave, tv, kettle, washing machine, fridge. We travelled with two kids, and I could say it is definitely a family-friendly house. Jozie made sure we had all the information we needed for check in (key collection from a secure box) and check out. It was also very clear what we'd need to do before leaving, especially with all the covid-related precautions. The location was great, and we had a parking space for our 7-seat volkswagen car right outside the house. The neighbourhood was quiet and lovely. We drove everywhere and it was easy to access and find the house. We had to transfer a security deposit in case of damages, and we felt a bit unsure about transferring money to an external bank account. However we were told by booking.com that these type of security deposits are common and advised us to keep all communication about the deposit within the booking messaging system (ya know, just in case). The security deposit is stated in the property's description so we paid for it. After the house was inspected and damage-free, our deposit was transferred back fully, so happy ending! We'd definitely recommend this house to anyone. Thanks so much Jozie for your help and patience answering our questions!
