Avoid , disgusting customer service and a dated bright apartment !

I liked the location of the building

Ok where do I start - property is dated , with scuff marks all over the property , on the floor and on the walls and door , rug is dated and threaded at the edges ! The quilt is thin and dated and smelt musty ! This had been bought up in other reviews too ! The bedroom blinds are flimsy and if you’re after a lie in , beware this blinds DO NOT hold the light out and as soon as it’s light outside the whole bedroom is in daylight too ! No common sense in that department too , surely a bedroom should keep sunlight out and not in . The whole conversation I had via WhatsApp was non existent - they give you a number to use to which they virtually ignore you - at the end I raised my concerns to them via Whatspp and after reading said messages blocked me straight away without even answering !! I had no hot water , but did have an emergency phone number to call if I had any issues . Nobody replied or answered in 3 1/2 hours and I had no hot water for six hours ! To sum it up , customer service is not good, and I won’t be returning to your Apartments .

Excellent location, nice view over sports ground, staff were excellent and very helpful, good sized apartment.

It needed a few minor repairs in the kitchen and the underfloor heating controls and towel rail.

The location was great.

No hot water, therefore couldn’t have a shower or bath. Very uncomfortable bed with unclean musty bedding. I’ve tried to sort out my complaint directly but now I’m being ignored! It was a very poor experience for the money.

Very good but a few items need attention

Location. On site parking. Easy access. Warm. Full kitchen and utensils even wash up liquid !! Comy bed. Very helpful staff

Not up to expectations

To be honest, I was quite disappointed when I first entered the apartment. It wasn’t what I had imagined at all. I understand that this building has been around since about 2010 (if I’m not mistaken). The furniture and amenities: from the sofa to the mattress, the table, the TV, the remote control, and especially the bathroom towels, appear to be just as old as the building itself. I’ve stayed in many short-let apartments, and unfortunately, this has been the most unpleasant experience so far.

A really great apartment that fails to be luxury

We have had a lovely stay at apartment No. 80 Gunwharf Quays. The instructions prior to our visit were clear and the welcome by our host Ken was greatly appreciated. We valued the secure parking, the location, the views, the competitive pricing and the concept of the apartment’s luxury status.

We were rather surprised with the first apartment we were offered which had a shower door that was broken. To be advised to prop the existing broken door up against the shower was a health and safety concern, which could have resulted in an accident. We were grateful that another apartment was offered to us because of this issue. However, we would like to suggest that it would be useful to have a microwave and shelf in the shower for toiletries, There are regrettably things that have fallen short and need addressing to earn that description of being a luxury apartment. These include: Working extractor fans in the bathrooms that currently do not work; Heated towel rails that require maintenance, as they also do not work; That the lights under the kitchen cupboards should be repaired as they do not work; That the ceiling lights should be of one colour, as currently they consist of warm and cool lights, which is not pleasing to the eye; The blinds in the second bedroom need replacing as they currently broken; The freezer compartment is also broken and causes a build up of ice; The kitchen is not well equipped and needs to have a good supply of china (which matches) and equipment that enables self catering; Though the beds were comfortable spare additional pillows would have been appreciated; The bath plug in the master bedroom is broken. These are all issues of general maintenance that would enhance the accommodation and make it worthy of ‘luxury’ status.

Ideal for gun wharf quays

A little tired missing drawer in bedroom, broken drawer in kitchen edging trim in kitchen in floor tatty, no drinking glasses and mismatched crockery not enough cooking utensils, dirty stained carpet in bed room chipped bath and shower holder had tape on it needs some love also parking cost extra £15 a night and needed fob to exit car park and then had to take fib back to flat which was difficult as had to find somewhere to put car !!

I love the location, the building and the amenities of the place as well as the support specially for the parking lot. It has a lot of space for storage and someone could be living there in a permanent basis.

Unacceptable

The location.

The apartment was very poorly maintained. It had been cleaned but it had a grubby feel. The shower head was broken and you couldn't adjust the temperature which, in less than a minute became scolding. This rendered the shower impossible to use. I reported the problem on Saturday evening and didn't receive a response until Monday morning because it was the weekend and no-one was on call. They were told that this wasn't good enough, that it was their problem and that my review would reflect it. The apartment was also stifling hot. I left a day early due to these issues. The only reason I've given a rating of 2 and not 1 is due to the location.

Welcome to Sunny Southsea.

Everything. I was met by a very friendly member of staff who went above and beyond in making me feel most welcome. She showed me my way around the apartment complex. The apartment was superb, and most welcoming and felt like home and ideal to have a relaxing in. Gunwharf Quays location is ideal to explore Pompey. We came for the Victorious, and walked there easily, passing historical Naval locations, Nelson Statue, on the way. Am definitely using these apartments again.

There is nothing in Pompey to not like. Its a great city. And the apartment helped to enhance our stay. This was my first festival and what a way to start at the brilliant, and outstanding location - Victorious. Well done Pompey.

Great for Gunwarf Quays, Dockyards and public transport

Location was great. Within walking distance of the dockyard, Gosport ferry, and bus station as well as being perfectly situated for Gunwarf shops

Decor was tired. Bed wasn't very comfortable and needed some sort of anti slip mat in the bath when showering. Shower wasn't easy to regulate. Sofa was well used.

Great location, very clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Shops, restaurants and bars literally on the doorstep. Ryan was great and even though we arrived late he hung about to welcome us and go through everything we needed to know.

The location was stunning, beautiful views, great security, high floor.

The cleanliness and condition of the kitchen. The backsplash glass was broken, the oven was filthy, hasn’t been cleaned for ages. The apartment description mentions there is a microwave yet there wasn’t, it was a grill . The fridge had some broken drawers, and it was leaking water! The shower drain was clogged, so after a couple of minutes in the shower the water flows to the bathroom floor. There was no iron nor iron board as mentioned in the description, and when we asked for one, the iron table’s cloth was all ripped and burned in several places and Ken the Chinese guy who was in charge said: (just put a towel on it) !!

Enjoyed our stay in excellent location. Price was a bit steep given few issues mentioned above.

Good location with superb views over water and to Spinnaker Tower. Could be a bit noisy late at night at weekend but not outrageous. Also, aware of unloading for shops, bars etc early in morning but only to be expected given location. Clean apartment albeit basic furniture.

No curtain in lounge although pegs there so must have been one previously - just gives bit more privacy. No hairdryer - first time I have stayed answer with no hairdryer provided. Kitchen equipment very sparse i.e.no chopping board, no kitchen roll, no drain plug ( difficult to wash dishes and results in water wastage). If you want to cook then you need to buy basics i.e oil, salt, etc. Difficult to adjust temperature control in showers - water way too hot. Why are lights on during day in lobbies? Entrance vestibule and lobbies tend to be quite stuffy as no air-con.

Comfort

Close venue to the outlets and nice view towards the seafront. Room was made available earlier to accomodate our early arrival and it was neat and tidy. Would recommend and stay again here next time.

Was expecting a fan or some sort since summer but none. Nevertheless, the stay was pleasant and recommended. 🙂

Great for sightseeing.

The location was excellent. The apartment overlooked Gunwharf Quays shopping centre and the water. Plenty of choice for shopping, activities and eating out. It was close to the very interesting Historic Dockyard, with nearby bus, ferry, hovercraft and train links. The view from the Spinnaker Tower was stunning. The apartment was spacious and comfortable. It had everything we needed for our holiday. The hosts were easily contactable if we had any questions. Parking on site was important for us, which was an additional cost, but necessary. The lifts all worked and whizzed between floors really quickly. Staff in the reception area were pleasant and helpful.

Pale carpets are a worry, but we coped.

It is a good location but the apartment did not live up to expectations.

Good reception by hosts and extra keys and fob given. Excellent lifts and great having a manned reception.

Apartment very tired and shabby. Broken dishwasher. Leaking sink tap in kitchen. Broken mirror splash back. TV had obviously had a knock in the past and was slightly crooked. Little silver fish bugs in the bathroom. We wanted convenience of the station but being on the 4th floor and no a/c either meant we had the noise of the trains or cooked.

Great studio apartment

Fantastic location. Close to train station, bus station, ferry port. Right on gunwharf quays so fantastic shops and restaurants on your doorstep. We would definitely return and stay here again

Some train noise which was intrusive when the windows were open, but once they were closed, it could barely be heard. Instructions to operate the microwave would’ve been welcome, but we did work it out. Streaming services on the TV did not seem to work for some reason.

It gave us what we needed in a fabulous location.

Location perfect. size was great. Having a fridge and cooking facilities excellent - better than a hotel room.

A little more time spent on explaining how things worked would have helped. The oven/microwave was not easy to master and we couldn't find any heating/cooling other than opening windows. Only a duvet on the bed so too hot at night but no sheet to cover up with.

Apt. needs a little TLC, furniture very worn, several lightbulbs not working, only 2 towels supplied and though once white are grey and dingy. We had to buy toilet paper, soap, coffee maker etc. Lacking basic instructions for TV, dishwasher.

very nice weekend stay

My room was at the back so couldn't see the Spinakker, but the sun was on the patio in the morning so was able to sit outside with a cup of tea. It was peaceful and sheltered from any noises from the shopping mall and restaurants etc.
