Five Flowers Guest House

Five Flowers is in wonderful location overlooking the Adriatic and a few minutes' walk from the main square, also close to the Grand Canal and old town. The street it's one has several restaurants but is quite quiet. We had a fantastic welcome from the host who even phoned a restaurant to make sure we could have dinner even though we'd arrived at 10pm. The room was spacious and comfortable and all the processes (check-in etc) were smooth and friendly

This is the same for any central property in Trieste, but street parking is hard to find, we used the San Giusto public car park which is about 10 minutes walk away - the property can provide a discount voucher

1. The breathtaking view of the Gulf of Trieste - immediate, ever-present and always changing. 2. The windows looking out onto that view actually block out sound when closed. Each window also features a wide internal ledge where you can watch the activity along the coast while working at a laptop or drinking a cup of fine Trieste coffee. 3. The location. It is genuinely in the heart of the historic Cavana neighborhood near the waterfront and within walking distance to many key locations, modes of public transportation, and a variety of excellent restaurants and markets. 4. The frequent physical presence and attentiveness of the father-daughter team who created this welcoming place. There is nothing quite like getting face to face personal knowledge from someone who tells you their favorite restaurants or helps you solve a problem. 5. Extra attention has been paid to creating a physically safe environment, beyond typical requirements. The extraordinarily well-lit, as well as marked, floor transition is remarkable. The clear glass partitions along the bottom of the very tall windows, and the even floor surface throughout. 6. The bathroom with its large walk in shower is fully appointed and superb. 7. The bed is comfortable and the linens are smooth, ample and appropriate for the season. Daily housekeeping service is provided. 8. The rooms are modern and well-designed without being overdone. There is even an indented shelf above the bed, where the throw pillows can be placed out of the way, but are easy to reach when you want one. 9. The room accommodates people of many sizes – not just those around 6 ft. The accessible hooks for towels and other items help to keep things organized. The full mirror, hidden within the closet, and large mirror in the bathroom were much appreciated. 10. The entry door to this historic building is bold, immense and could hold back a hoard of invaders. Talk about feeling safe!

Not a thing. Should we return to Trieste, we already know where to stay.

Location was great, room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We were very lucky to find a parking spot right outside, but would definitely recommend having a backup plan if going by car
