A Short Stay, a Lasting Memory

We traveled as a family of cousins, and we had a lovely overnight stay in Venice. The room was clean and comfortable, and the location made it easy to explore the city’s charm even in a short time. The host was truly kind and welcoming, which made the experience even more special. Thank you for the warm hospitality—it was a quiet and restful stop in a truly magical place.

Bedding was disappointing. There was not a living room or dining area that accommodated us. Essentially all the rooms were bedrooms, which was okay for one night.

We were able to comfortably sleep 8. The property was very clean and we were happy with AC on the premise. There were towels for all guests and the 2 bathrooms worked out well for many people.

We had a great time staying in Venice for three nights, especially since we knew we had a comfortable place to stay.

Excellent location. Close to major sites. Very clean and comfortable. The AC worked great because it was very hot outside when we stayed there and we were cool inside. We appreciated the washing machine in the lower level. We were a group of eight people so three bedrooms and two bathrooms worked perfectly. The owners/managers were very friendly and helpful getting us settled in.

I don’t like stairs, but I expected stairs because the property is in an historic neighborhood.

Beautiful stay

The House on the Canal is a fabulous apartment, would highly recommend anyone and everyone to visit. Mandy and her partner were very welcoming and accommodating to our families. Mandy’s communication on the lead up to our visit was very much appreciated, down to providing photo description of how to reach the apartment via WhatsApp. We were 2 families arriving with 4 very hot children, who were offered a cold bottle straight away on our arrival. There was plenty of space for all 8 of us. The beds were comfy, and the AC was very welcome after a hot day exploring Venice. The view over the canal was gorgeous, and the location was second to none, a couple minutes walk from a beautiful square with lovely restaurants and cafe. The water bus stop San Samuele was a quick walk away. Our private water transfer from the airport got us even closer to the accommodation. I would highly recommend anyone to visit The House on the canal, it really is the perfect spot!

Very spacious rooms in great location , walking distances to most attractions or the water bus was just around the corner . Staff were very nice and allowed us to store our luggage.

Close to a school so was noisy when children queued while waiting for school to open.

Excellent Value in a Great Location in Venice

This property is in an excellent location in Venice. Just off a major square, it is located on a quieter/smaller street... which allowed for a quiet, peaceful sleep at night. Our host Mandy was excellent! She met us at the apartment to let us in and show us around. She was very helpful via WhatsApp, and made our stay very easy.

Overall, this was a great property! Wifi was a bit weak in some spots/bedrooms. I might prefer a property with a larger, central "living room" or "sitting room" next time.

Excellent location. Functional for our group. Walking distance to key tourist destinations yet didn’t feel like we were stuck in the middle of everyone. Friendly host with good communication.

This property just needed a couple of thousand Euros spent to take it from good to great. Little things like no shelving in bathrooms, some ‘designer flair’ here and there, and while clean it wasn’t super clean (ie dirt in corners of bathroom etc). Nothing to hinder us from enjoying our stay, but enough that we couldn’t give it the 5 stars it would deserve with a little more ‘love’.

The location, and spaciousness of the apartment. We had 3 bedrooms with additional sofa beds, and 2 bathrooms which were well fitted. The hostess was also kind and helpful

There was a small kitchenette with electric kettles and sink for washing, but it would have been better if we had an oven to heat up food

Fantastic stay, highly recommended!

Central location less than 10 minutes walk to St Marks Square and three minutes walk to the water bus stop San Samuele. Our host Mandy was in contact before during and after our stay and was most helpful with local information. The rooms were spacious and beds were very comfortable. Stayed as a family of 8 with three children and plenty of room to accommodate us. Bathrooms are modern and roomy. Would definitely stay there again if revisiting Venice and will recommend to my family and friends.

Spacious house on the canal

Great location, near San Marco and Rialto bridge. Large space, right on the canal. Supermarket and shops within easy walking distance. Owner was friendly and quick to respond. Two good, modern bathrooms.

Limited kitchen facilities - kettles only worked in the bedrooms. No pots or pans for cooking. 3rd bedroom is in the lounge and open to the kitchen, so no privacy. Washing machine shated with owner and no dryer. Limited plugs and lamps.

super clean, very friendly, nice place

super clean, centrally located in San Marco, very easy to get to all direcrions (e.g. Piazza San Marco in less than 10 min, Coop supermarket in 5 min), bridge across the Canale Grande in 3 min etc. In the kitchen there is no oven to cook, but microwave oven and water heater to prepare tea and coffee. Mandy is very very friendly. We reall enjoyed the location and are looking forward to coming back whenever we have the chance to visit Venice again.
