The house is perfect! We had such a bliss staying here. So quiet! The house is modern and stylish and has everything you need. The owner was extremely helpful when we need a doctor for our young son. It was a pain to leave. Highly recommend!!

The house was super nice, so well designed and beautiful, well eqquipped and also outside pool area was very nice to hang out. Askifou village is very quiet and authentic mountain village, but less than 30 drive away to nice southern beaches. If you wish peaceful stay surrounded by mountains, this is your choice.
The doors and steps were a bit loud when someone used them.

Exceeded expectations, photos don’t do it justice. Angeliki is a fantastic host, we arrived at 1am to a home cooked meal, amazing.

Villa Skyphos was perfect for us. I was travelling with my son and my parents and we wanted a modern villa in a quiet location and Villa Skyphos suited us perfectly. The villa is exactly like in the pictures - with the only difference being that the owners have now built a permanent outdoor structure over the outside dining area, which now has an inbuilt BBQ.
The pool was delightful and the view of the mountains was awesome.
Angeliki, the owner, was wonderful - she answered all my questions before arriving at the villa, and even made us a delicious welcome meal for when we arrived - it was incredible! She was just so welcoming.
You will definitely need a hire car to get around, as the villa is in the mountains. There is a great little supermarket tucked away in the village which has all the essentials (avoid the one on the main road!)
The beaches of the south coast are easy to drive to and well worth it - definitely take the ferry from Hora Sfakion to Loutro - amazingly clear waters and a pebbly beach with loungers and plenty of tavernas to keep you full :) The north is also easy to reach - Chania and Rethmyno were lovely but very busy (as you would expect in August).
For those into nature, the villa has wonderful birds all around. My dad is an avid bird watcher and was thrilled by all the different varieties he could spot around the villa in the mountains. Take your binoculars!
