The terrace on the roof was really cool.

Excellent location, beautiful rooftop terrace, lovely staff, and comfortable bed. Free coffee, water, cookies and apples were a REAL treat and nice touch!
Lighting was very dull. A bedside lamp would be very beneficial. Shower never got hot just lukewarm.

The rooftop terrace is nice and it’s in a great location. Comfortable enough
It is so noisy! But more so because someone was coughing and hacking up something disgusting 3 of the 4 nights I was there. Can hear every noise in the hotel & outside. Shower was ok but took a very long time to warm up.

Great location, right in the heart of Oaxaca City. The room itself (bedroom) was fine for a short stay and tidy. They offer free tea/coffee downstairs which was a nice touch.
Our bathroom was awful. Might not have been the same for every room but this was our experience. There was an overwhelming smell of drainage coming from the bathroom throughout the evening and into the night. The water pressure was basically non-existent and the water itself was freezing cold for our entire night stay (3pm-11am). They did say hot water was turned off from something like 11pm-6am but we literally had no hot water the entire time.
We reported this to a member of staff who didn’t manage to get us into a room that was empty (being cleaned or about to be cleaned) to have a shower, although he did seem to attempt to.

The staff was very nice! Even though they couldn’t speak english, they helped us with every question.
Location was amazing!! Also they gave us a ventilator for a bit more coolness in the room.
There was only hot water in the morning. Bed was also quite small and very hard. Too few power outlets.

the staff were helpful. specially when we arrived before checking time the lady kindly accepted us and speaks English very well, other staffs couldn't speak English but they tried their best to make our stay facile. they provide free coffee and water too which was very good. Also the location was just two block from most of sites and centre.
the only thing about conformance stay at this hotel was about limited time to use hot water. Hot water just run 8:am-11 pm.

Good location
Just the bed needed more cushion
9.0 / 10.0
Location within blocks of the city center, cleanliness, staff assistance, attractiveness of property, availability of coffee and filtered water, roof deck, Cafe Alex within steps, and proximity to markets and transportation...absolutely met and exceeded expectations. The only minus was the mattress.
Because there is no soft chair in the room, guests often sit on the edge of the bed and have created a permanent depression on one side of the bed.

I got to my place at 1 am and there was still someone up.
The bathroom was good, and the shower was great.
There was a complimentary coffee bar in the mornings, but I didn't use it.
It's only a few blocks from the main city plaza and lots close by to eat from
There is a rule about making noises and disturbing other guests, though I am not sure it is enforced. I had people dragging things and banging above me in the late hours.
The room only had one plug socket outlet.
No desk or desk chair. There was a small dresser, but it wasn't really ideal for working at. And there was no plug socket here.
(I had looked into the other rooms whilst they were being cleaned, and many had more than one plug socket outlet)
There was a local bar that had loud music until 2 am on Friday and Saturday nights

Massive room, very clean, friendly staff, great location, great terrace, has parking, free coffee, water refill and apples!!
A fan would be nice-
Very stuffy in the rooms as there is no airflow
Also better lighting- in the room I couldn’t read a book because the light was too low, and in the bathroom you couldn’t see anything in the mirror

Although this accommodation is classified as a hostal, it felt more like a hotel to me (which was good as I wasn't after the hostal vibe). The room was a big enough, had a large window to let in light and fresh air. It was spotlessly clean and very quiet. We slept very well. There was good wifi in the room and ample plugs for charging devices. Good security, the front door was always locked. Location is excellent, you can walk to all the main attractions in the city. I would definitely stay here again.
Everything was good, no complaints.

It is a hostel not hotel, there is not room service or any facilities in the room.

The staff, especially Monse, were excellent. The property was as described and extremely clean and was very secure. Great location for walking everywhere.
Some late night arrivals and guests who had been out late were noisy couple of nights.

The room was basic but functional. It was clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The mattress and pillow were wrapped up in plastic or something so that was not very comfortable to be honest. The internet didn't work properly during most of my stay.

The hostel is a nice structure, very clean and with nice/simple bedrooms. The location is perfect and the terrace was a bonus!
They give only 1 towel per person, and not even one for the hands or a carpet towel for the shower. We asked for one more, since I need one specific to dry my face (since I use chemical products for my acne) and they said that only one per person was authorized…

It’s about a 5 minute walk from the zocalo. The rooftop patio is great for smoking when it is open between 8AM and 10PM. Any other times, you have to leave the hotel to smoke.
The free coffee all day is great
Only one small stool in the room. No chairs in the room. This a room with 2 beds. Where are people supposed to sit?
The hot water takes about 5 minutes to become hot after the water is turned on.

The location was convenient
There was no hot water between 11:00pm and 6:00am. This was very inconvenient. The rooms were very hot and stuffy. Bed was hard and pillows were terrible.

No, breakfast on site but close to everything.
The bed still have the plastic over and make noise.

Clean and very big room at a nice location in Oaxaca. They offered drinking water and coffee al day long which was really nice. We could check in past midnight thanks to the 24h-reception service. Would book this hotel again!
Despite the reasonable price this is a hotel and not a hostel. If you're a backpacker/solo traveller: don't expect a social place.

I like that my room was in the back of the hotel and relatively quiet.
The windows only looked at other windows and the fresh air possibility was not so fresh. Very basic furnishings with 3 hangers and plastic covering the mattress.

Perfect location! And the rooms are spacious!

Big spacious rooms, hot water.
No aircon.

It was a large room with a comfortable bed. It even had a TV channel with an English speaking channel. The rooftop was nice and you could catch the sunset from it (albeit through the fencing). Nice touch to have free coffee, water and biscuits in the foyer
Like most Mexican hotels, it was missing the usual extra pillows, facecloth, soap and shampoo.. Not a deal breaker. A fan in the room would have been nice. Advanced warning, there is a bar 300m around the corner, far enough away, however they play their music so loud it can be heard at night. If you're a light sleeper you may want earplugs

The staff is super friendly and helpful, the room was clean and the Location is perfect for exploring the city. The check in and out time is very costumerfriendly. They had free coffee and water all the time. The rooftop terrace is very pretty. I felt safe and welcomed here!
I didn't meet staff who spoke English which was a little challenging sometimes but they used Google translator and tried their best. The room was quite warm without aircon or a fan but you can ask for a portable one, in my case it wasn't available at my first night. The lights aren't put very smart, there is no reading light ar the bed and the mirrors are very dark, too.

I liked the location and the staff was very helpful and welcoming. They helped us book a taxi to the airport at a better rate and they offered free coffee and water upon arrival. We arrived early and allowed us to check in before the regular time. I was impressed as this was my first time staying st a Hostal. I only stayed one night , but I would stay here again if the weather isn’t warm though as there is no AC.

The staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel is located close to the Zocalo and the markets about 3-5minutes walking. There's a little coffee and tea/ water station which is quite thoughtful.

The hostel is minutes from the Zocolo. I had an internal room, dark and quiet, something that is rare in Mexico. Comfortable bed and best pillow for me so far. A good night's sleep ready to explore the next day. As a solo traveller I recommend it. Free water coffee and biscuits.
There is a small common area by Front door but I didn't make any contacts .

The staff was friendly. The room was clean. The location is perfect!
The room was very dark which was a bit depressing and you can hear everything from the hallway or other rooms. The bed was rather hard.

basic rooms- well ventilated and very clean. the shower has hot water and good pressure. good location about a 10 minute walk to most things and an OXXO just around the corner but not directly in the square. the staff were very friendly and helpful, they helped me book a taxi to the airport at an early hour of the morning for a good price. roof top is very beautiful
