Loved the breakfast, staff, location, room

Great location, super friendly service, nice rooftop, the trip to Monte Alban that I booked at reception was also very cool
The breakfast was extremely limited (if you upgrade you can get some eggs, but it's still very limited)

The view from the balcony over the entire city was just stunning and a great place to relax with a drink from the bar, you also also eat breakfast up there which was a great way to start the morning. It was a great location only a short walk into town and the staff were all so lovely and happy to help. There was also a good selection of day trips and taxi services which the staff are happy to book for you for excursions out of the city.
The room was very standard and small and the shower want very good. But I knew that from the photos before we arrived but I knew it would be worth it for the balcony view and we aren't fussed as don't spend much time in the room anyway

Staff was very friendly. Location is great, not in the hustle and bustle, but close enough to walk there within 5 minutes. Rooftop terrace is very nice with a wonderful view over the city centre.
Included breakfast is quite limited.

Great roof top view for breakfast. Breakfast was good.
They didn't supply bottled water. It is a walk downhill to town and uphill back. They messed up my booking but did take care of it. You have to request housekeeping. Shower was really weak with limited hot water.

Room was big. View from roof top deck was nice.
There was no bottled water in the room. I tried to buy some from front deck but they had no change. The unit had a small kitchen but no soap to wash dishes. Location was uphill so walking to town was a workout. Also no elevator for luggage. Front desk says they are there 24 hrs but rarely was there anyone there.

Staff was very nice and helpful.
We specifically asked for a quiet room. Our room was away from the street, but directly below a rooftop bar that blasts music from 8 am until 10 pm.

Amazing rooftop with spectacular view- probably the best in Oaxaca.
Clean rooms and a cute breakfast- overall good value.
The shower water pressure could be better and the toilet flush is very weak but i understand its a problem in the whole city...

Everything was excellent! 😊
Nothing, it was much better than we expected!

Location is great: smaller street just up the hill from the city center. Rooftop affords a great view of the city, and is a great place to have breakfast in the morning or drinks at night. The staff were very accommodating and nice. The bed was not big but comfy. Solid wifi.
There are no shelves in the bathroom to put toiletries, just something small would have really helped. The plumbing of the sink leaked and there was always water on the floor, but no foot towel was provided. Also there was no drinking water - providing even a small bottle at the beginning of the visit would be a nice touch to welcome a thirsty traveler. Of course during our stay we found a shop to buy some.

This hotel has a very good location, close to the center of town. Mostly what set it apart was how helpful and friendly the staff was.

Very well located, super calm, very clean, and amazing service (the staff couldn't be nicer). They offered us the opportunity to put up pictures of our loved ones (deceased) on the altar for Dia de los Muertos, a very nice touch that we truely appreciated.

Very nice place
A little noise in the night

It is the type of hotel that has everything with modesty, caring about how you feel, but also about your pocket. The staff is caring, polite and always ready to help you to spend your vacation as best as possible. The hotel has a new owner since the summer of 2025 and they know each other. The roof floor where breakfast is served and from where you can see the wonderful sunrises and the panorama of the city is an unforgettable place. Thank you Katia and the entire staff who made a difference!
Because of the hill the hotel is built on, the hallways have one or two steps here and there. Be careful as you walk along them.

The breakfast made on the spot with the view of Oaxaca in front of you was an excellent plus. The staff is very friendly. The room was alright for a couple of nights.

The terrace.
In construction and renovations which was not advertised prior to booking. Maid did not clean my room during the whole stay. A bit off the centro histórico . Breakfast super mediocre.

The staff was helpful in general, and in a good mood
The managers didn't address very basic requests and complains, like not having hot water for 5 days or not caring about the noise in general

Great location, great value for money. Nice breakfast on the rooftop. Staff were really nice.
We could hear other guests making a bit of noise on our first night/ walls a bit thin.

Staff was very very hospitable, helped me with everything including information, calling a cab. Going out of their way to provide great service. Really great location. facilities to do yoga, which I really liked.
Room door lock was a bit clunky

I had a great stay at Yabanhi Hostel. Victor was especially helpful, the information about Oaxaca that I got from him was valuable, I used his recommendations to plan many of my days. The room was comfortable, clean and centrally located, and the rooftop patio is perfect for viewing the city, sunrises and sunsets.

In the limit of a safe area.
The shower was cold one night
Not very quiet room

The hostel was very clean and quiet (which is quite nice given other places we have stayed in Mexico). The hostel is a short walk from the main Zocalo, approx. 10 - 15 minutes (depending how fast / slow you walk).
The room was spacious and comfortable. There was a fan but no air conditioner. The position of the light and the fan created a bit of a disco vibe in the room.
The bathroom was clean but there was not a lot of storage for toiletries. There was a clothesline to hang clothes located in the shower.
The staff were very friendly and communicated well prior to our stay letting us know when our room was ready. Staff were also able to arrange a taxi back to the airport for us instead of the shuttle (which more expensive).
The rooftop was nice and had a great view of Oaxaca.

Such a great hostel- awesome location with a rooftop kitchen and hangout. Rooms were cleaned daily and the staff were so so helpful. Even after we left and forgot something sentimental at the hostel they went out of their way to get it back to us in another city!

No AC.

The staff was really super nice ! They accepted to park our car inside and keep it all day long. The clean water fountain is also really cool ! The terrasse upstairs with a view on all the city is really cool !

Good location, great terrace, comfortable beds, peaceful in spite of the vicinity to the town center.
There was nothing that I did not like. An improvement however would be a coffee machine in the terrace kitchen.

So clean! Quiet aside from the Guelaguetza festivities! Size of the room.
9.0 / 10.0
The location on a residential street, a few blocks up and away from the crowds of the town center but close enough to walk everywhere and you have a beautiful view of the town from the roof top. Other “likes”
- room was cleaned everyday
- filtered water
- hosts speak English and are very helpful and accommodating
- rooftop kitchen was a nice place for morning breakfast and coffee; evening sunsets. We used the refrigerator for our beer and snacks (Mercado Sanchez Pascuas and Pan con Madre are nearby among others)
Our room faced the street so it was noisy one of our three nights there but it was due to the festival of Guelaguetza (last two weeks of July)

The staff, the price point, the cleanliness. It was a great place to meet new people!
I think It could have been made upfront that the room does not have air conditioning. Its location is also slightly outside the main part of the city. There is a short walk in the dark at night.

I found the location good, it was an easy walk into town and I walked back at night with no issues as well. The room was very clean and a good size. There was a drinking water tap in reception which was very handy. Overall the vibe was very quiet, felt like I was the only guest at the time!
The shower wasn't the best. The water kind of sprayed in all directions and very weakly. The natural light in the bedroom wasn't good. Not too much of an issue if you're out and about a lot during the day.

Loved how clean the whole space was, how comfortable it felt. Lovely spacious rooms, beautiful large rooftop terrace with a great view of Santo Domingo Church. Only a 5 min walk to town, 8 mins to Centro.
Really friendly staff, they spoke English which was helpful (my Spanish isn't great yet) over all we were super happy.
I loved everything, if I had to choose one thing it was a heat wave when we were there, so the room got a bit hot. But for the price we don't expect AC and the fan plus opening the window (which has fly screens) cooled it right down at night.

Room was clean and hot water was available. All the staffs were very kind and friendly.
The hotel is a little bit far from the city center but there are nice restaurants nearby too.
