Hostal Central Oaxaca

This is the first hostel I ever stayed at and I loved it, very homely vibes, free breakfast that’s actually good, two free included events planned per day which were amazing to meet people and see the city. Not a party vibe at all which was great and my room was very spacious.

The staff were great! Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Beds were ok, their breakfast was the best! And I also enjoyed some of the activities they offer every day!

The location wasn’t the best, it was about 15 minute walk from the center (I don’t mind walking) but I didn’t feel safe at night. Locals also warned me not to walk around it at night.

I’ve traveled to around 50 countries, and this hostel is definitely my #1!! They have private rooms as well, so it’s the perfect place for people who don’t like sharing a room but still want to meet and socialize with other travelers. Everything was spotless, there were events every day, and it was so easy to make friends. The lounge even has Disney+ available to watch for free! And the free breakfast was absolutely incredible. Instead of the usual cereal and bread, they serve authentic Mexican food—and honestly, it was better than some of the restaurants I went to! Coffee and juice are included too. Even the tableware was carefully chosen, which shows how much attention they pay to the smallest details. I’ve stayed at many hostels around the world, and this one truly stands out. I would 100% recommend it!
