Amazing stay in a beautiful oasis

Cinthia is such a wonderful and responsive host! She was able to extend my stay and I got to enjoy two different rooms. The matrimonial (double) bed with the heart mural and balcony for the first night, then on the second night we moved to the room with 2 double beds and a balcony. Cinthia has really created a beautiful and welcoming space, rich with animal and plant life. It's a little oasis outside the city center :) Casa del Nenufar is accessible with public transport & mototaxi combo, Didi, taxi or walking (~1h). Its not a place to base out of if you want to participate in a lot of centrally located activities, but its such a wonderful stay. The residence also has rooms suitable for larger parties or families :) The design and thought put into the space is wonderful and so inviting. There is fresh drinking water available for use, 2 kitchen areas, and free breakfast (various cereals, pan dulce conch etc, milk, bananas, apples, coffee). There are 2 refrigerators to store your items and the freezer and fridge both work well even though they look like they've seen better days. A few common areas available to hang out, a hammock, couches etc. The balconies on the room with 2 double beds and the matrimonial double bed room also have seating areas and beautiful views. There are towels and soap provided, adequate blankets and no real need for AC, though a fan is provided. Beds were most supportive in the room with two double beds and softest/most worn in in the matrimonial (double) bed room. Thank you so much for your flexibility and warm reception and invitation! Very minimal, but important to know, the car vendor will start to come by very early; they're on a megaphone and loud but thats part of the neighborhood you're in. The Google Maps/directions to Casa del Nenufar are a bit off and it can be confusing when arriving with taxi etc, I've included a photo to show what the outside looks like. The bathroom in the bedroom with 2 double beds has a shower that doesn't have a barrier nor a great angle for drainage, so any showers longer than ~10 minutes risk potentially flowing into the room and there is no squeegee type device to push the water back. It would have been nice in the double (matrimonial) bed room to have a stand to hold devices to charge on as the only plug is high on the wall, but i used my backpack for support and it worked fine. Quiet hours were communicated but some guests chose to unfortunately not observe them, so late nights and early mornings were present; though this is onviously not always the case, just our experience staying for a couple nights :)

If you don’t have a scooter or car it’s a little far from town and can be hard to get a taxi to pick you up. But we loved exploring the neighborhood around and would highly recommend this stay!

Excellent stay

I feel honored to have gotten the chance to stay at this property. The family that runs it is the sweetest and even picked me up at the airport as I was coming in late. It is very peaceful and the room was quite clean and comfortable.

It is a bit far from the center of Oxaca city; best for someone with a vehicle as buses can be unreliable and taxis are expensive.

I loved the out of the way location. others might want to be more central. I liked having my own room. Breakfast was sufficient (fruit, cereal). Kitchen was sufficient to make food.

Hot water wasn't consistent. Wifi was not sufficient in room.

The family who own this hostel were lovely, especially Cynthia who was amazing! Nice breakfast in the morning, and I had a large room to myself. Everything was great, thank you Cynthia!

15 minutes from town so I had to get a taxi to and from the hostel, so keep that in mind

The place itself is simple and has everything you need: strong wifi, hot water, comfortable bed, breakfast. Sintija and her family was the most caring, helpful people we'd met in Mexico. Thank you for mole!

It was very far from city center, hard to find at first, the buses nearby are rare or no exist (during our stay). If you like to feel the local life, this is the place. But if you had just one night it could be tiring. After check in it was easier to find connections (direction hospital normal, victoria guadalupe). I recommend the host to inform the directions before check in, it would be very helpful.

A lil bit far from the city but perfect for people who donsent like the noise of the center,buses and mototaxi all day long easy to get to the center,a taxi at night back to the hostel is about 80 pesos ,busses are 8.

We had great two weeks. It was the nicest family we met in mexico and a quiet save place. She invited us to taste the local kitchen and gave as many information about her country. All the highlights are reachable with the cheap busses of the city.

The staff are beautiful people. They respond very quickly and take care of everything. The beds are clean and comfortable. The terrace is beautiful. The breakfast is delicious and very thoughtful.

The location is a little far from the center, but you can take a bus. Some of the neighborhood dogs get noisy in the night.

La atención del personal es excelente, amables personas, las camas limpias igual que la habitación y habia desayuno básico , pan , leche, cafe y te, fruta (mamzana y platano)

Esta lleno todo de agua estancada, patio, casa y habitación, se encuentra en un cerro y para subir esta machin (osea en carro) y además el agua para bañarse estuvo fría

Excelente alojamiento con relación precio calidad y ambiente natural

La relación calidad precio y la calidez y atención del personal, todos muy amables y atentos. Es un plus el hecho de tener trastes y áreas compartidas para poder comer y cocinar te ahorras bastante en comida.

En general no hay ninguna queja, quizá solo como recomendación para los que quieran alojarse tener en cuenta que llegar en el transporte público es un poco complicado y de preferencia sería mejor traer tu vehículo, pero nada que quejarse es un lugar bastante tranquilo y cómodo.
