Best thing was the view. Not as luxurious as other cottages we have rented.

The location- a lovely view. Bed and pillows comfortable and spacious shower room. It was very clean; convenient for Helmsley and surrounding area and walking.

Small towels and we needed more space and storage in bedroom. Some of the lighting was poor. Dining seats need cushions as does out door furniture. Cottage was comfortable, but not luxurious and I expected a pint of milk at least in the fridge.

Highly recommended cottage with pleasant helpful and welcoming owner

The cottage was in a beautiful location and very comfortable. The owner, Dave, welcomed us and was friendly and informative about the area. Things to see and do; and good recommendations for places to eat.

A great break in a fabulous homely cottage in a beautiful setting.

Decor in cottage was lovely. Owner came to tell us about the heating and log burner. Scenery was gorgeous.

I think it would be even better if you could get in the cottage earlier. 4pm is late. We then had to leave property by 9.30am which is early. The owner did in fact say we could leave a little earlier as their cleaner was going to be late-so that was good.

Beautiful cottage in fab location

Beautiful cottage in a fabulous location. It was well equipped, everything was super clean and fresh. Ample parking space and a lovely, big green area to the side of the cottages with picnic benches. Helmsley is a 5 minute drive away for essential shopping, supermarkets are about 25 minutes but easy to get to (based on me going to Morrisons!) A fantastic base to explore the area around and further afield as it's well connected to main roads just outside of the village. We loved staying here and would definitely stay again. Our little boy particularly loved the outdoor toys that were kindly left out by the owners for all the kids to enjoy. It was a nice touch that set the tone for our stay :)

Much needed break

Location was great. Lovely views. Nice and quiet but not too cut off either.

Could have maybe had more options on TV or DVD player and possibly more storage for clothes.

Stunning

Wonderfully friendly and helpful hosts who made our stay a real pleasure and one we will repeat; they changed the cooking knives in the kitchen when we pointed out the ones in the cottage were seriously blunt. It was a perfect size for us but It would be pretty tight for four adults as we needed to use the spare bedroom to store our clothes; maybe one or two young children would be ok. Wonderful outlook from the lounge and plenty of excellent pubs and restaurants of all types and prices within a short distance but none in walking distance. We spent our time in and around the national park, great scenery and walks but it is also in easy reach of York, Harrogate and Scarborough.

Exceptional

The location was idyllic with lovely country views and giving a truly rural feel. The interior of the Cottage was immaculately presented with all essentials provided for a self catering holiday. The cottage provides an ideal base for exploring by car or on foot lots of fantastic walks. The hosts Dave and Helen were very helpful in all communications .. recommended places to eat, walks, taxis nothing too much trouble. We will definitely be returning in the near future.

Ryedale Cottage excellent place to relax

The location was excellent. Just through the North Yorkshire moors and a short drive from Thirsk. Helmsley is a great village with fantastic amenities. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. We made use if the log burner every evening.

Lovely place for a country holiday

I liked everything about the cottage. It was well furnished, clean and comfortable. The owners were very friendly and helpful. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here. Outside there were benches and picnic tables plus a stunning view.
