Getting to the property is a lot. It’s up hill and lots of stairs. If you book this make sure you have minimal luggage, we learned the hard way and it was hard!

Patio and view….may truly be the best in all of cinque terre!!

Our host, Barbara, was amazing. Great communication, very attentive, all property amenities exceeded all expectations. The patio and view were beyond expectations. We will recommend and would absolutely stay again at this property. The videos Barbara sent on how to find property were amazing, and made our late night midnight arrival due to plane delays sooooo much less stressful thanks to her.

The only downside was proximity to the train station from an audible perspective. Hearing the chimes and repeated automated announcements for trains in the morning is not the best way to wake up, but on plus side, being close to train station with all the walking / steps you do in cinque terre, this place was amazing.

Amazing stay and very helpful staff

Location and room was amazing. We have such a beautiful view from our balcony and ended up spending time watching sunsets from out own balcony so spent more time than we thought we would. Facilities were excellent! The staff were very friendly and provided detailed instructions and were very communicative. Would highly recommend Alla Porta Rossa to anyone!

Wonderful cliffside experience.

Unique experience in a beautiful cliffside village. Barbara is a wonderful host. Every detail was well thought out in the room. We were very comfortable and happy with our stay. View of as phenomenal and the room was well equipped with everything we needed. Bed was also very comfortable and the room was clean and well maintained. There is a beautiful swimming area in the village, even though it says there is no beach.

Nothing! It was fantastic! Just be prepared as there is a significant amount of walking to get to the property. However it’s great exercise and very scenic. Try to pack light or leave what you can in the car.

She was also extremely kind by allowing us to check in early.The location is excellent.The flat is well equipped with everything you need. The views from both balconies are amazing. The large balcony is superb, loungers , table and chairs and 2 large chairs, a wonderful place to relax and soak in the views. An outstanding property

Exceptional

You could not ask for a better location. One massive deck/patio overlooking the town and sea and another one overlooking the see. We lived on the decks in the early morning and evenings. The views were spectacular! The room itself had everything you need and was presented so well. We were able to wash our clothes, we had a coffe maker, dishwasher etc. Barbara is so pleasant and if we had questions, she responded immediately. Honestly, we can't say enough great things about our experience in Manarola, all driven by a great location to stay and experience the beautiful towns!!

All was very good. It is tight quarters, especially the bathroom, but perfectly done. A beautiful place inside and out!

Superb

Barbara gave easy to find instructions from the train station. Everything was excellent from the bathroom, to the bed, tea and coffee corner. The view was good from our room's little balcony. Manarola and Barbara's place was the best choice and location to stay. Bear in mind this needs some walking up a steep hill but we were prepared and had only minimal luggage and it was so worth it.

The hair dryer was too weak.

A very small room with thin walls. You could hear everything from next door. Would have been nice to have a small table and cuttlery. We had to use the knife from the corkscrew to cut cheese and ham.

Amazing view and an excellent location

The location is fantastic, we had an amazing view of the ocean from our bed, the room is small but well thought out, its quite easy to find, its a hike to get there but everywhere is in Cinque Terre and its well worth the climb, the communication to check in from Barbara was excellent, we left our phone inside when we checked out and Barbara was also very helpful in getting us new key codes to get back in. If your staying in Manarola i would highly recommend Alla Porta Rosa, Im sure both rooms are fantastic but the view from your bed in the Sapore Di Sole room is stunning

A highlight of our honeymoon vacation!

This was one of the most memorable places we stayed on our trip and - to my recollection - one of the most memorable places I've ever stayed! Alla Porta Rossa is incredible close to the Manarola train station and our host Barbara provided excellent directions (including a video!) of exactly how to get to the apartment. (She was also regularly in contact and super helpful, even going so far as to offer free laundry services while the washing machine was being replaced.) Though the bathroom is certainly petite, the room was spacious enough with plenty of thoughtful kitchen amenities, but let's be honest -- we booked the suite for the ample terrace with the view and it did not disappoint!! On any given night we were able to see the sun setting over the hills and the moon rising behind us and it was absolutely magical. As added bonuses, the apartments are so close to grocery shops, restaurants, and the town's famous viewpoint... we loved our stay and would highly recommend! Thank you!

Fairly pleasant, with the exceptions noted above.

No breakfast was provided (nor promised) so no complaints there. I rated my stay "pleasant" and not more because we had some neighbours in the building who were totally irrespectful of the other's guests need for quiet. In particular, they left one day before we did, and started making unbearable noises at 4 am in preparing their departure and descending the stairs with all their possessions.

Nothing to complain about the unit we were assigned. As stated above, pretty much to complain about the neighbours. Understood that you cannot screen your guests before renting the rooms, but perhaps a little higher price would be helpful in weeding out unwanted noises at night.
