Dragon Suites - Edinburgh City Centre 2 Bed Apartment

The location is perfect. The unit is clean, modern, and offers almost everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay

As mentioned during my previous stay, I still believe the property should provide a toilet bidet hose or a toilet seat with a built-in water spray. The iron had many stains, and the ironing board was too small to be practical. Since our unit was on the lower ground floor, there was occasionally a noticeable sewage smell. The windows would also benefit from proper blackout curtains instead of the current wooden shutters, which sometimes do not close completely. Finally, this was my second stay with Dragon Suites, and I feel the check-in/check-out times could be improved. A 10:00 AM check-out and 4:00 PM check-in create a very long gap. A more guest-friendly schedule, such as 11:00 AM check-out and 3:00 PM check-in, would make a significant difference.

Late check in - 4.00pm but early check out - 10.00am! Quite threatening communications about fines if you’re late. Steep uneven stairs down into this basement flat.

Good location, clean, well equipped, easy to get to, was well priced for Edinburgh. Beds were comfortable. Great communication from the host and instructions. Nice that they left some coffee and tea to start us off and also some biscuits. We had a good time and would recommend this apartment and location.

Not a huge thing but for feedback purposes… we were in the basement apartment at the property, looking on to a private outside area where one window had no means of cover. Would have been good to have a blind to close. Also a slight musty smell, which when you were in the apartment you adjusted quickly and it wasn’t noticeable, it was just there from coming outside to in. Think it’s because of it being a basement apartment.

Great location - just minutes to Princes Street. Grocery store and coffee shops right around the corner.

The property was not cleaned properly before we arrived. There was a drop of blood on the toilet seat and the kitchen sink was not fully cleaned (it also had a bit of an odour). The flat also smelled quite musty/mildewy. This was not surprising, given that we later discovered mold in the ensuite bathroom. There was an attempt made to disguise the odour with a scented product in the living area. There was also quite a large stain on the rug in the living room. The flat itself was located below ground, despite the photos showing an above-ground property as well as promising “city views” in the description. Our “city view” was of the filthy steps leading up to the street and a dirty landing area. We were travelling with our children and felt unsafe with the windows being at this level. We had chosen this property based not only on location, but also because we (falsely) assumed it would be above ground with a city view (again, based on the description and the photos). If you book this property, ensure you are mindful on the stairs into the basement, as they are quite uneven. Even our teenagers commented that they found the stairs quite wonky and we all almost fell at least once. Also, if you have a fear of long-legged spiders, do not book.
