A lovely little self-catering cottage set in the heart of the Arrochar Alps. The cottage itself is a quaint 19th century building with one bedroom, a living/dining room, a bathroom and a kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped to make most meals. We were very comfortable during our stay and loved exploring the area.
The cottage had some nice touches, including a table and chairs in the bedroom so you can sip your morning cuppa whilst drinking in the views. The views were amazing from the cottage, and it was lovely seeing the ever changing landscape from the cottage windows.
The host Ben was very kind and helpful. He stored our luggage before our after our stay, and picked us up from a nearby town after we got ourselves in a bit of a pickle!
Arrochar itself has many great walks and other areas can be explored by bus and train. However the bus and train timetables are not the most convinient. We would highly recommend pre-booking the Scottish Citylink bus as it can easily get full on a weekend or public holiday in good weather, due to its popularity as a hiking destination.
A bit of nitpicking but it would have been nice to have an oven. Also the shower wasn't very powerful and was hard to keep a consistent temperature. This didn't detract from our stay and we weren't too bothered about either things.

Nicely decorated and equipped traditional stone cottage. Lovely view and good local shop and eateries within a few minutes walk. Satellite TV in an otherwise poor reception area. Spotlessly clean.
Although central heating is listed in the facilities, it is not available from March to October. We were there in mid June and the weather was damp and sunless. There was an electric fire in the sitting room and a convector heater in the bedroom. On arrival, the cottage struck you as deeply chilly, especially in the tiny windowless kitchen.
The bathroom was really cold and, with no heat available, prone to condensation. Towels were permanently damp. Also, the electric shower unit had a water leak coming from within the unit, which made us doubt its safety.
Hot water to the kitchen and bathroom sinks was barely tepid, so a kettle had to be boiled for washing up.
There was no chance that you could have dried out wet weather gear or footwear.
