Cleaning is totally poor rooms are cleaned after 4 days simple sweeping the floor no dust bean inside the room no wardrobes toilets is horrible 😢 gate you need to sound the hooter unti end up get out from the car to receptionist ask to open the gate they're smoking dagga inside the building quality of the toilet paper👎 you get 1 until they come after 4 days

The property does not match the Booking.com listing, poses a health concern, I am dissatisfied

Location was okay

There is a broken/cracked window (safety concern), the bathroom is unhygienic (rusted toilet brush, dirty toilet area), the shower is not in usable condition, and the apartment is extremely dusty with dirty furniture, which is triggering my allergies. (Health concern). The plugs are not working. The cleaning lady tried cleaning the stains but it does not help. The property does not match the description on Booking.com and poses a health issue for me

Bad Experience

The place is very noisy and not clean at all. The staff are unfriendly and rude with clients.

The pictures do not match the actual place. False advertising. Looks like it's a spot where prostitution took place. There are communal bathrooms that you need to use and not in the rooms as advertised. It's a very unsafe place to stay with your family. We didn't use the facility and booked alternative accommodation.

the cozy room was beautiful and well organized

the TV remote was not functioning well , I also think to avoid having to walk to the reception they could just write or print the wifi password and place it on the table or the sidetables .the plugs installed ddnt match the electric jug pins

Shower didn't work. Shower door hand dirty handprints over it. Size of the room was smaller than the previous room I had even though it both Queen rooms.

How to improve your hotel

The room was very nice especially when how the bed was made up it was really presentable very comfortable as well, the side tables also looked very presentable, and that all I can say really about the room

Well first and foremost the reception was very dull the was only one plant at least they could put more effort in the reception area, I am not saying make it look like a 4 star or 5 star hotel but at least make your reception presentable so when a guest walks in they feel atleast welcome, secondly the staff just walk past and don't greet some do but majority of them dont at all, like where is the welcoming to the hotel vibe I felt more like I was in court 😅but you catch my drift, Thirdly they dont accompanied the guest when they ask to change the times perhaps especially when it comes to check in I get yes the room needs to be clean and all but what about the saying that goes " guest priority is always first and alos keep the guest happy " a another thing they don't even have that do not disturb signage boards where guest can put that out the hotel room i was about to get undressed then one of the hote staff l just took there key and open the door without knocking on the door to check if there is anyone in the room they just come in , like really 🤦 but nevertheless that all i can think from my side

They won't fix the TV, they steal your food while you're gone out.

The TV only worked for one day. I did ask for it to be fixed and they said they'd fix it in the morning but they never did. Eventually they said I'd have to call the maintenance people. Because apparently I must do their job. And to top it all off, a cleaning lady went in my room while I was out, when I came back she left in a hurry and I noticed some of my food was missing including chocolates. Worst hotel ever.

This is great for a budget stay. Apart for noise on the weekends it's not bad.

The rooms are neat and tidy and the bathrooms were clean. It's across the road from the Old Biscuit Mill and in close proximity to interesting stores.

I booked for several people - some rooms were nicer than others. Some bathrooms were newer than than others. Older bathrooms could do with some regrouting. The smell of cannabis smoke from the neighbours wafting in through the windows. The area gets very noisy on Friday and Saturday nights. Some of the rooms' walls had water damage which does not look great upon entering the room.

Absolutely nothing. The property is a mess

I really think this property should not be on bookings.com. I know it’s accommodation at a cheap price, but it’s not worth paying for given the standard of the property. 1. The shower had no curtain or door which means water is just everywhere when showering, had to get a mop and the mop it’s was so dirty. 2. The bedding was not clean and the bed was not comfortable. 3. The is a lot of noise on the property and I didn’t feel safe 4. Parking was also a mess, in fact my car got scratched at the property. I eventually got moved to another room but it still wasn’t to good standard. I really would not recommend anyone to book at this property, you will regret it

Not impressed

The wifi was a problem connecting to the tv and the power wasn't of,aswell as there was no bathroom on suite dissatisfied for the amount almost a thousand.

A little disappointed

The bed and it's headboard were comfortable

The TV never worked, it would have been much better if at least etv channels and sabc channels worked since smart TV wasn't user friendly, the passage was very dirty and it had a bath tub instead of a shower, bath tubs are never that clean for the next person to use.

I just liked that I had a roof on my head and a safe parking.

The biggest ick was the bed, it is as hard as a rock. The basin in the bathroom is blocked, water isn't flowing. They don't have a closet and no lotion.

I need my refunds please !!! I booked at City Club Hotel and they refused to let me check in on that day .. for no visible reason ! And i didn’t get any refunds

They didn’t allow me check in and put my money on the line at stake, i arrived there more than early enough around 3pm .. and they made up some unreasonable excuses and didn’t allow me check in on purpose and did some hate towards me Please i would like my refund for this booking with urgent action .. or i will like to use my exact funds to book another place

There was nothing to like.

Check in took longer than expected. The room was not cleaned properly before our arrival. The bedding smelled like sweat, as well as the pillows, the toilet mat was wet upon arrival. There were people hanging around the lobby who were not staff or guests. The view from the room was horrific.

Myself & partner got there, room was still dirty. Bed was made up but floor was dirty, not swept. No towels, no toilet paper, no cups, glasses, etc. Had to use a toilet far from the room.

The convenience of the amenities within walking distance

I am a loyal guest of the City Club as I live in the northern suburbs and sometimes want to be closer to the CBD. It is so convenient however some of the staff are just not people who should be working in hospitality as they lack the level of care necessary. The cleaning staff is incredibly loud in the corridors in the mornings. The reception staff at the older (wish U were here) building is shocking and OFTEN leave reception unattended causing guests to stand in the road at night. Great potential but constantly lacking in the detail that makes ALL the difference.
