We could come and go as we pleased and we had everything that we needed in the cottage. you can park directly at the cottage and there is outside space that you can use if required. you are left to your own devices pretty much.
The cottage is quite hard to find innately and would benefit from a sign at the entrance. The couch in the lounge area is quite uncomfortable and the bed is not the comfiest but all in all not a bad set up.

A few essentials like tea bags, toothpaste etc were there in case we didn't have them. Nice touch

We reached early and host allowed us early checkin.
Cleaning was a problem throughout the apartment. There was a lot of pet hair on both the sofa and the bed. The sofa can be turned into a bed, but it isn’t very comfortable. It’s old, and the two parts don’t line up well, which makes it hard to sleep on. The cottage/apartment is near a farm, so it’s expected to have some animal smells outside. This could be a great place to stay if the host improved the cleaning and hygiene.
