The walking proximity to the village center.
The second bedroom felt claustrophobic – the one next to the bathroom. Crossing the road could be sometimes a challenge due to cars flying up and down the road. I had a larger car and could not fit it in the tight parking spot. All of the above were pretty unavoidable and we managed OK.

Located on a 20-30 min drive to the Wicklow Mountains and it’s hiking trails. Check in went smooth. Kitchen has everything you need and the bathroom was clean. Parking is available next to the property and there’s a pub and pizza place down the street as well as a supermarket.
The bed in the second room made a lot of noise when you moved. Woke up myself a few times every night when I turned around. Heating has to be turned on by pressing a button every hour or so. This results in the temperature not being constant and me waking up in the middle of the night freezing my ears and nose off. Couch and chairs weren’t very comfortable to chill in the evening.

Very quirky little home. Well thought out with what you need inside. Very kind and obliging owners.
The heating system is not great. The boiler needs a service as the air pressure is severe. While in use the boiler makes a lot of screeching noises which I am sure will go after radiators have been bled. As a parent with young children I would have liked there to have been a label on the cupboard with a microwave to inform you that it is in there and already plugged in, as my toddler found it first and had turned it on, fortunately without putting anything in there, but it could have been a lot worse. The website photos could do with updating as on the photos it seems you can access the top garden but it is currently cable tied off due to unsafe stairs I am assuming. The bed side lights in the bedroom closest to the toilet both don't work. The oven could do with some other oven trays for cooking food. We had to have the shower on extremely low to ensure that the water wouldn't overflow due to very slow drainage. I understand that the plumbing system is old and maybe that's why but it was just difficult trying to clean yourself properly. The beds are extremely loud so with even a small movement they seem to rattle which my children and husband found challenging.
