Gorgeous private place to relax

Great location, spacious and comfortable one bed suite, very private and as it was the weekend it was quiet. Fabulous views. Good laundry facilities. Gorgeous crockery & glasses etc…..Netflix was complementary Definitely need a car to stay there! Would love to return on another trip to NZ. Some of the nicest meals we’ve had in the area too!!

There is a lot of building work going on around the area and on site which didn’t disturb us at all but I’m sure it could be noisy! The check in was easy with a lock box but we thought we would have our towels/bathroom refreshed after 2 nights but didn’t happen. Maybe we were supposed to book this but didn’t seem clear on the booking. This didn’t spoil our stay but thought it was worth mentioning on a review.

Perfect relaxing stay mixing bush & beach life.

We loved everything about our stay at Tui & Nikau despite the ongoing renovation work. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, comfortable and even brought us chocolate from the local factory to apologise for the noise. The premises were clean, new and well equipped. It was conveniently located 5 mins away from a supermarket and 10 mins away from the beach. It had a lovely calming bush feeling. While the rooms could get hot, AC was easily available. The little kitchenette had everything you need for light cooking. We are definitely coming back!

Nice place to unwind

We loved the apartment, had all the amenities we needed. The surroundings were nice and peaceful. Staff were friendly and helpful, very attentive to our needs. Was able to relax and unwind during the day, Netflix was great during the stormy weather. Had realised upon check in that we were upgraded from a studio to a one bedroom which was awesome! The staff responded promptly to our requests which we we're greatful for :)

Unfortunately the building isn't that sound proof as we could hear alot of noises/voices from the apartment next door, below and outside. It was fine during the day, but hearing loud noises late at night were unpleasant. Most of these were distubances from other guests which could not be controlled, so no faults on the property.

Disappointing

The studio apartment was tastefully decorated and very clean. Linen on the beds were of a high quality. We had a discount as the property were doing some building work. We saw no builders on the weekend only on the Monday, which was to be expected. We were out all day so it didn’t worry us at all.

Beware if you book the studio apartment on the ground floor. The sound proofing is terrible and we listened to very loud footsteps above us for 2 nights. Much quieter when the couple above us left. Also the bathroom shower leaked water all over the bathroom floor whenever we showered. We had to leave a towel on the floor to soak up the water. In all Ok value because of the building work, but I would have been very disappointed had we paid the full price.

Peaceful location with beautiful views.

Beautiful elevated location, native bush outlook, views of the estuary and glimpses of the ocean. Peaceful. Beautifully presented. Comfortable bed and nice linen. Hosts were quick to respond to messages. Close enough to everything, yet far enough away from the busyness.

A lovely experience for our last night in Northlands.

Location was super amongst the trees and en route to the Headland. Room was large and we were greeted by friendly staff and a scented candle.

The air con was a trifle annoying, bursting into activity every half an hour. We turned it off and then slept well. A tea towel would have been useful!

Great location, private and peaceful

Patty and the team were friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was spotless and very comfortable, ideal for our week-long stay. Very relaxing property surrounded by nature. The location to town and the beach was so central with everything you would need within a short drive or walk. We were advised of the building work that is happening on the property before we booked and the price was discounted to compensate for any inconvenience which was appreciated. The builders were considerate and we weren't impacted too greatly as we were out during the day. We will definitely be returning to Tui and Nikau.

Highly expensive for a very average experience amenities. Strongly suggest, based on our experience you give it a miss.

It look nice. It wasn’t far from town.

It wasn’t exactly easy to find, the person I called for assistance seemed disinterested, the floors are very slippery when damp or wet (we were there in winter), the heating (a split system) sounded like a truck running. When we sort advice, the solution was “when it reaches temperature it will kick out”. So when it did, we finally had peace, however once it dropped below 16 degrees Celsius and kicked back in at midnight, we were all woken by the racket. We ended up sleeping with it off and in the cold. Oh and then to top it off, the people in a surrounding cabin then kept us up from midnight to around 130am with thoughtful behaviour. And finally, the shower door leaked, so the floor basically flooded (did I mention how slippery the floors were). Maybe the water in the bathroom is the attraction for / why to ceiling was covered in bugs.

Only down fall was when we went to use the pull out couch there was old sheets on it with specs of old blood that also went through to the mattress protector. Also booking.com lets you choose which room to select but in reality it doesn’t transpire to the actual room allocation

Peaceful and well equipped facilities in a very central location

Everything was beautifully presented and we enjoyed our stay, our only fault was the upstairs noise when somebody walked across above you. Any movement above was heard, next time we would try and book an upstairs room.

It was great location with a nice view. The apartment is modern with a kitchen ( no oven , no dishwasher ) but laundry is available onsite with washing machines and dryer. Washing powder supplied. The manager met us on arrival at night. He was friendly and accommodating. Met his wife who was also friendly.

Comfortable, stylish, modern well appointed accommodation in a relaxing location. Easy parking.

Breakfast not included, however there are lovely cafes nearby offering breakfast, or you can bring your own supplies and use the well organised kitchenette in the room. Excellent bathroom and shower. Very comfortable bed. An easy and calming space to stay in. Very clean and well looked after. Surrounded by beautiful native bush garden, adds to the peaceful feel. Highly recommend.

Personal preference - a more comfortable and larger sofa in the living room area. Its a good space to reflex in, just needs a really comfortable couch for 2 to settle into.
