The Shepherd's Purse

Loved the location. It is like stepping into a quiet oasis…stepping off of the busy street, you cannot hear a thing as art from the birds in the beautiful garden the the balcony overlooked! The room was spotless.

Quite very clean picture book

Really enjoyed our stay at the Shepherd’s purse, we have passed it numerous times and always wondered what was down the little path, now we know! Beautiful, quaint courtyard, with lots of quirky features, this led to a staircase and up to our room. We had chosen a superior with the four poster band, all very clean, tidy and well presented. We particularly like the well supplied drinks tray and although we didn’t use it, the fresh coffee was an unexpected pleasant surprise. The fresh flowers were also a nice touch and appreciated. Throughout our stay, we didn’t see any staff (so we can’t say they were excellent) but that wasn’t a problem for us as everything was ready as instructed in the email. To say it is so close to the center of the old town, it was very quiet during the night.

We would have given it a 10 for the facilities had the Jacuzzi bath been working, but still a lovely size and shape for a good soak after a busy day walking round Whitby.
