Lovely setting. Peaceful. Great place for a large group of friends. Was met by host when we arrived, everything explained. We had a great time.

It is a distance from amenities, not a problem for us as transport was at hand.

Good location for our planned activities, with more than enough space for our party size (8). Lovely spot by a stream - enjoyed the firepit one evening. We had a problem with a hob (which turned out to be an issue of a switch in a less than obvious location and us not looking hard enough), but the response was immediate, helpful and appropriate. Information supply and response to questions we had before arrival was excellent. Worth noting this is a working estate; there was construction activity taking place nearby on our stay, and for us this wasn’t intrusive or a disturbance, but might be if you were hoping for splendid isolation.

The cottages are constrained by their original construction, so the kitchens are long and thin and a bit cramped. This made getting 8 people round one table for meals a tight squeeze and a bit of a logic puzzle. It wouldn’t be possible for a party filling both cottages to all eat together unless you temporarily shifted the relevant furniture from both kitchens into one of the living rooms. Similarly, with only two bathrooms, a party at maximum capacity would have to plan accordingly.
